Blender character modeling tutorials?

Now I have made a model of my character Ophira, but I am sure it's not the best way of doing it, and furthermore I am unsure how to color it and rig it.
So does anyone know of a good tutorial for all of this? Having used Blender I am enjoying the process but I am certain that there has to be a faster and better way about it.
So if anyone can share some tutorials videos that maybe you used or you know to be good it would help me.
