I've been obsessed with metal gear for the past month and my gf joked about a mlp au so here we are. I'm gonna use this journal to keep track of all the different details of the AU, but atm it's mostly just 'what kind of pony is x character'. It's metal gear characters as horses. horse gear. friendship gear. I'm still working out the title. but I'm definitely gonna post the designs for every character once I make them
anyway. gonna try to organize it by families
Big Boss is an earth pony, and still a legendary soldier like in the games. He's not infertile, but never has children and refuses to. So the neightriots clone him with magic, and raise the three surviving colts separately. Snake goes through the Equestian military and FOXHOUND. Snake, Liquid, and Solidus all keep their codenames, but their actual names are Hayvid, Double Edge, and Gallop Sears respectively.
Solidus makes himself into an artificial alicorn with his armor.
Both the campbells--meryl and roy--are gryphons
The Emmerich are all unicorns, and so is Strangelove. Julie is an earth pony, and so is EE. Huey still has a wheelchair and his leg braces, but for the same reason his spine's all messed up, his horn doesn't work. He's got no magic. Otacon, however, does. Strangelove is still named Strangelove here. Huey is a nickname, so he gets to keep it. Otacon's horse name is Super Computer, and I haven't figured out what EE would be called.
Raiden is a pegasus, and his horse name is Ripcord because of his fast and aggressive fighting style and because of the like. machine associations of the word. Sunny is a filly prodigy unicorn, & her full name is Sunny Side, like the eggs.
The Boss is an earth pony. The Sorrow is a unicorn. Ocelot is a cat lord (he's adopted if this is the case) or a unicorn.
Quiet is a kirin, Kaz is either a diamond dog or a pegasus. Venom is a changeling, and is made to forget he's one through magic. His horn is disguised as the scrap metal that gets stuck in his head. DD is still a wolf. D-Horse is a dragon with no fire. Pequod is a pegasus. Paz and chico are earth ponies, and so are most of the MSF soldiers.
Pyscho Mantis is a powerful unicorn who's also psychic. He's got regular magic and his psychic abilities, which don't have a colored aura like regular magic would. His horse name is Photuris, after the genus that contains fireflies. Decoy Octopus is a changeling, and his horse name is Mimic. Sniper Wolf is a pegasus, haven't figured out her name.
