That is weird, Collie, since Mixxx ALWAYS notifies you when you can't connect to your port, or in this case, your music server. Not trying to boast here, but remember that 9595 port that I was using from Boomer's site? Well, I didn't really wanna rely on him all the time to enable it so I had to do what I had to do and rented my own music server and what a blessing that was because now it's ALWAYS enabled and no one has to 'flick the switch' to the ON (or enabled) position.

You can possibly rent your own music server, but the thing here is that I don't know how you would be able to do this when you're not on Second Life. I am sure there's a way, though, so you don't have to rely on Boomer to enable 9456 for you. I mean he does have a lot of stuff to do already and if you someday manage to relieve him of remembering to enable your port when you go live and help Romeo out, you will be doing him a huge favor for doing so.

For me, the music server that I rent is only for L$400 (400 lindens, a bit less than $5.00 in Canadian currency) per month and they even throw in a bonus week. But like I said, there be some other alternatives of renting a music server.

I had similar problems on Sunday night. Boomer asked me to check if Mixxx had updated since the same happened a year or two ago. There was an update, so installing it fixed the problem.

Were you still on 2.2.4? I am using 2.3.4 and it works really well.

I forget if I was using 2.2 or 2.3, but I upgraded to 2.4.
