Another Updare Journal! Commissions, Mailing List, and Mo...

Hey all! Just here to let you know I'm still working on those commissions and trades! I'm really trying to get everything I owe done in the next few days so I can get back into streaming! Since leaving my past job, I do need to take on more work to cover bills. Honestly I think the best way to keep the commission To-Do lists down while still taking on more work would be streams. That way people don't have to wait!
But don't worry! I'll still be taking commissions out of stream. Still thinking of the best way to handle it. I think I'll only do smaller things in streams like icons, flat colors, badges, etc., then save big things like VHS covers, posters, etc. for out of stream. With maybe a slot or two for regular commissions as well. Whatever I do, I really want to stream line things. I told myself I would get into a routine this year and I'm determined to see it through!
In other news, I plan to start a mailing list soon! I really cannot stand modern internet and the toxicity of social media. Not to mention all the bots. So I'm hoping a mailing list combined with the revival of my website will really help to fight the current internet climate. I already have fun ideas planned for it like free monthly icons, new blog posts, stream schedules and lots of pet photos :P Currently I'm shopping around for the perfect place that let's me make some funky looking emails. If you have any suggestions, please do share!
Lastly, I have a lot of art to upload ;o; I've been really busy, out a ton, friends and family visiting, and though I've been working behind the scenes a lot, I haven't had time to post art much here lately. It takes a little longer than using social media (but I like that), so I've just been putting it off. Plus it's hard to do while in a car! So expect a lot of art coming soon!

Ive also seen a number of creators jump onto the newsletter idea to circumvent internet toxicity. Its encouraging to see people starting to make rooms for alternative means of communicating! Id sign up haha
Omg really? That does my heart good. I really need to convince others to join us! Because it's just so fun opening up a new email filled with fun things from your favorite artist!
Also, echoing what others say: the mailing list is a splendid idea to avoid all the toxic jerks on the internet. I'd totally sign up!

As for a mailing list, after looking around myself (doing something similair myself, working on my own site, and was planning on having a commissions opening mailing list). I settled on Emailoctopus personally, as it was one of the places that let you have a couple thousand subscribers on your list for free. The only drawback was that it was intimidating setting it up, as it seemed like they expected you to have already been established or something, but I explained to them that I was brand new and was planning on building my very first newsletter, and they understood.

Custom images here for sure that I was able to mess around with: Background of the email, seperate header image, seperate footer image, seperate image for the content of the email itself,
Custom colors: All Text, the option for background colors instead of images
Custom fonts (from the list they have of like 20 or so, doesn't look like you can import a custom font)
So a lot better than I was expecting there! :3 The only thing that would've been cool that looks like it doesn't have is the option for gradients built in or semi transparency toggling, but definitely still lots of customization available ^^
