How long did the breaks went? Maybe the problem isn't that you take breaks but instead how long you rest from drawing but I don't know.

I know exactly how ya feel man. I've had this situation several times.

Sounds like Art Block. Never experienced it myself but I also can't visualize. So best advice is either wait it out, brute force your way through it, or make fan art of a series you like.

At times like that, it always helps me to go back to basics a bit. Try doing some free sketching. Just doing what comes to mind without worrying about what's wrong or not.

Sometimes the pressure to have a complete "Thing" as the end goal can overwhelm the ability to simply draw freely and some zero-stakes non-committal messing around doodles can help with pushing through that.

I assume that's why bigger artists do warm-up sketches though I'm nowhere near that level to be able to comment on if that's true or not.

I think trying to force yourself to draw won't help much, allow yourself to take a break from it and spend some time socialising, reading or enjoying a new TV show and perhaps just try to do a very simple doodle once a day to keep the muscle memory fresh but nothing complex.

Maybe you should take a break so you can reflect on yourself.

Also, have you heard of a site called Art Fight? It's a once-a-year art trading game that takes place in July. You should look that up for research.
