5/27/24 Schooling, Summer, and other updates!
Hi everyone!
Gee, it’s been a whole 8 months since my last journal? Woof. It goes to show how little I use FA for posting and keeping tabs nowadays. I’d like to start by announcing my telegram channel! It’ll be the place where I stash everything! From wips, to sketches, finished pieces, maybe even some animation! Click HERE to be taken to my Telegram Channel!
If y’all didn’t know, I’ve been going through the motions of art school this year! I was in community college back in 2016. Back then I was taking art classes at a leisurely pace. I didn’t end up getting my associates until 2020. And I didn’t end up transferring school until last September! I’ve been enrolled in art school full time now. I’ve been trying my very best to study animation!
I can say that the school year was better than expected. I started off a little rusty to the whole school routine. But once I began settling in, I was working so damn hard! Animation is fucking nuts! So much creative problem solving involved. I did my very best to keep on top of classes this spring. I put my head down, locked in, and grinded out the hours I needed to. I can confidently say that my hard work paid off. Puppies get A’s baby!
Now that summer’s here, I’ve been doing my best to relax after such an intense first year. I haven’t felt a huge desire to play video games that much lately! Furthermore, as much of a huge Magic the Gathering fan I am, I really can’t be bothered spending money on new cards. With two of my hobbies taking the backseat. I really want to get into new things this summer. I’ve picked up pinball as a fun pastime. There’s a nice pinball parlor in the city, I’ve been hitting that place up pretty frequently with a friend.
I’d also love to pick up roller skating as a hobby. I tried it out last weekend. I was SO nervous! I only ended up rolling around the beginner section. But I still had fun!
Outside of hobbies, I’m doing my best to stay motivated with personal projects. School was so intense. I feel like I’ve made three times as much art in these past 8 months alone than I ever have in my entire life. A lot of the work came down to drawing/sketching. But the amount of planning and effort that goes into making short films and projects for your classes really adds up. Here’s hoping I can take what I’ve learned this year and transform it into something fun and furry for y’all here.
I plan on opening commissions soon! Give me a couple weeks to get myself warmed up! I’ll post on my socials and my new telegram channel, as soon as I’m ready! There’s a small backlog of people who submitted forms last year. I’ll be contacting those individuals again soon to see if they would still be interested in a commission! I don’t take payments until I official start a project, so I hope folks don’t have any hard feelings about myself not getting to them last year.
If you’ve read this far, thanks! Until next time, remember, Paw Day is Every Day!
