who would have thought that getting rid of my old desk that I had been using for a whole decade would absolutely fuck my ability to consistently draw anymore but here we are. After almost half a year of trying to get a current setup working involving balancing a floor chair on the side of a mattress and a coffee table and only getting extreme wrist pain some meager commission progress, I think I need to just bite the bullet and actually get a real desk.
it's going to be tricky because I currently live in a studio with one other person and our floor space is incredibly limited here, but I might aswell plan ahead. any of yall got any recommendations? something stable that can handle a keyboard, mouse, and drawing tablet that ain't going to break the bank?
also open for just advice in general on how to not let my wrist get any more fucked up by this. it's been really acting up lately.

Yes, it's marketed as a "gaming" desk, but don't let that fool you.

Might be worth checking their open-box section too.

You can also buy sit/stand legs to go with the table tops from IKEA as well but i prefer customizing the cabinetry honestly and sit/stand are always a tonne more expensive.
As Colada mentioned posture is 100% important. the TLDR is feet flat on the ground, legs horizontal and back straight. But you can google exact information. How you sit will directly impact where you are putting weight and strain on your wrists. Screen distance height and angle is also important as you never want to be leaning forward or slouching down, im not entirely sure how this works with graphical tablets though.
Research research research, if youre unsure about how/where something should be positioned look it up, and do what you can to fix it. Many default options are just terrible for ergonomics, keyboards are too high, desks default height is usually for people just under 6 foot, screens are too high for a lot of people etc etc.
Also a brief break every 30 minutes and stretch and exercise regularly, you can look up stretches you can do for your wrist/hand or see a specialist. Im sure you already knew this but figured id mention it just in case ^^
Adjustable desks always a plus, but pricey.
Definitely look into wrist braces and wrist rests. Usually look like small angled wedges

Basic office/PC desk. Its simple, decently cheap, has a LOT of space on it for everything you might need (including vertical space) and can easily accept all your gear. I upgraded mine with some SKADDIS panels screwed to the back for more storage (mostly my tools) but for you it could work too if you put your drawing supplies in to it, like paper blocks, pencils etc.
Alternatively you got those electric liftable tables, but those tend to be expensive iirc HOWEVER, they're really God's gift to us artists because of just how adjustable they are which could be worth the investment for your own health over time.
