As someone who only posts art here on Fur Affinity, I've been curious how folks discover new art on the site
Without an 'algorithm' or 'timeline' on the front page, I've determined three ways to discover art on FA: Stumbling/looking up someone's gallery and Watching them, being sent art through Discord/etc., or finding art in someone's Favorites.
I'm frequently deep-diving into people's Favorites to find new art. People have outstanding taste!! Because I do this, I've been curating my own Favorites gallery and I'm proud of it, haha! I treat the Favorites gallery kinda like reblogs, or retweets. My own collection of my favorite art for folks to peruse!
I know most folks have their Favorite gallery unviewable to the public, but I was wondering if other folks discovered art through Favorites?? Thanks 🙏

Otherwise I tend to search stuff that turns me on.
"One Piece Carrot" for example. That's how i found you.

Searching key terms like Animal Crossing and whatnot is also something I do, adjusting for most recent posts. It's just so much easier to find things here than on Twitter (the downside being that folks have to properly use those terms themselves).
The favorites are particularly nice when you stumble upon some artist with a niche art style where, in turn, their favorites are of similar artists! Just whole other community of folks waiting to be seen.
Side note but omg why is the block feature so bad on here
I got no clue, but I've heard FA's code is very ancient. It's why I don't wanna explore "browse" some days because I keep seeing the same artists who copy/paste the same anime faces on the same template. The block isn't strong enough! Easily the worst part of the website.
I also keep some pinned tabs open with search settings, and give them a refresh once in a while
It's why I mentioned comments, or I guess I should have said shouts... Sometimes those profile comments can lead interesting places
I only really made an account to follow people that only post here, and then I usually look through others favorites to find new art and artists to follow.
On a side note, it was honestly by chance that I managed to find your account again! I remember back when you originally had a twitter account years ago, and I was sad to find out that you suddenly vanished, but someone in a Discord server I'm in posted your art a while ago and I found out you were on FA! I still appreciate the beanie girl you drew for me 🥳
