Trump is done, BUT . . .

Okay.
Trump is done. No question. The GOP can't run with him any more, so they're going to dump him like a used condom. Because in the end, he's served his purpose.
I think the announcement will be in the next two weeks.
The Republicans can't afford to wait for him to file an appeal, so they're going to go with someone...
1. They can trust.
2. They can control.
3. Who will get the support of Republicans, independents and no few Democrats.
4. Who will be respected on the international stage.
5. And MOST importantly of all, will get the evangelical vote.
That's not trump.
But it *is* Mike Pence.
Now granted, the really crazy trump supporters will never vote for him. They hate him with the fire of a thousand suns. But the moderate, conservative, and even the far-right republicans that don't want trump, will most likely vote for him. Many independents will vote for him. They won't like it, because they lost Roe v Wade and a bunch of other issues, and Pence would NEVER bring back any of them.
But in a choice between Pence and Biden? I think a significant number of Independents will choose Pence. They'll "hold their noses" and do the deed.
And yes, he suspended his 2024 campaign, stating, "It's become clear to me: This is not my time."
That was then.
A lot has happened between October 28, 2023, and today.
Because Pence is EVERYTHING the GOP has ever wanted in a candidate.
There's also a strong argument for Nikki Haley, because she's got very strong credentials, and would be viewed as more trustworthy than Pence by trump's supporters. She didn't betray trump, but she didn't kowtow to him either. And more importantly, trump didn't burn her for bailing out of his administration. The only thing she lacks, so far as the evangelicals are concerned, is a penis.
Because evangelicals love the penis, and they're not happy when they don't get any.
So yes. Let's all party this weekend. Let's get fucking blitzed, stoned and fuck like bunnies, because this ABSOLUTELY is a win, and by God, we have FUCKING NEEDED a win for a LONG FUCKING TIME.
But let's also remember that Monday is around the corner, and this isn't over by a long shot.

Pence might offer some quiet stability, but he has no spine, or he would have pushed to be done with Trump after J6 and would have invoked the 25th to remove him at that time, or just himself ordered the national guard in to stop what was happening. Pence was an empty suit during the Trump presidency. Fora Game of Thrones comparison, Trump was our Joffrey while the real power was Mitch McConnell who was our Tywin Lannister. He gave Trump things to rubber stamp which Trump did long as he could take credit and then go back to his golf.
Pence just filled a seat. I can't see him getting the backing. Haley might rankle some evangelicals, but times have changed enough I think she would have a much better chance.
Sure, he'll gain a few and lose a few on the margins, but his cult of sheep will be there for him no matter what.
