Well, sometimes being "paranoid" is just being normal. Especially in a world where you find scam at every corner.

In this case, it was probably the best to get the card canceled.
And, just in case, change all passwords on everything just to make sure. (Or do it like me: I change the passwords on everything every 6 months or so, so even IF they get stolen and i dont notice, they are not active for THAT long.)

Gotcha. Already got the card canceled and they told me things should all be in order in a few days. This has not happened to me before and its playing on some fears so I just can't sit still lol.
Gonna start going through all of my passwords and changing them one by one just to be super sure.

Yeah when something like that happens for the first time its always scary. I never had a credit card before, (Never needed one...) so i cant relate, but its totally okay to be over cautious than loosing more money.
And yeah, changing all passwords may be a hassle, but will surely worth the work. Especially when some of your passwords got stolen.

That's a standard reaction, all things considered. First thing to do would be to check your email, if any accounts linked to it have had odd activity they tend to alert you. Still, sucks to hear, Hoss.

I haven't seen anything funny on my email yet so I guess I'm ok. Going to change passwords anyway.

List all means of online payment that you engage in with that card. Bank app, Amazon, Nintendo E shop, anything. Note your online shopping presence and change those passwords/enable two-step verification.

Your bank should be able to help you resolve the issue. Only thing you really need to do is reset your passwords and tighten security from here on. Use randomly generated passwords as opposed to your typical "Somethingrelevanttome1995" esc passwords.

Oh man my passwords get stupid and look like giberish so I think I'm good on that front.

The biggest thing is to not panic, being paranoid like this is natural - its a bad situation, yes, but you have already taken the steps necessary to get that money back and prevent use of that card again, if anything else was compromised you would most likely already know

Literally happened to me a day before Christmas. If you're with a bank, you don't have to worry too much. It sucks but they'll get you right and you'll have all that back in your account in a short time. They might ask you to file a dispute since you know exactly what was taken (pretty sure most banks work the same).

Being paranoid is good though in this case.

I think I've gotten it figured out with my bank. Lot of odd stuff happening with Twitter and my phone recently I've just noticed which just makes me feel oh so much better :/
