Life update, comm delays
a year ago
And things were going so well too...
So, at the start of this comm opening in March, I was honestly super productive. Maybe the most productive I've ever been. Nearly all sketches for the full color stuff done. Most were even on to flat colors.
And then on my return from LVFC, I find out my father is in ICU following a cardiac arrest.
So, I was in and out of the hospital visiting/helping most of April. He passed away May 20th and his funeral was a week later. He was only 58.
I've more or less gone over a lot of the details of everything in my Twitch or Picarto streams where most of my commissioners were present at, but figure I should say something here as well. I had kinda been putting it off. All that's left to do is clear out his apartment still. It'll be rough.
The comm queue is nearly done. All that's left are a few sketches (preliminary versions all done and will be sent out for approval) and some paintings. I was planning on opening this month, but because of the delays, but I'll likely be opening in July instead on my return from Anthrocon.
On some much lighter, better news, I finally went ahead and bought an iPad mini, so I'll be able to draw on the go! This'll enable me to draw while on long transit, or during downtime at cons. The plan is to do PWYW sketches. Going to be doing a lot of practice this week so I can get a good feel for things and configure everything to feel like my home set-up, if possible.
