Taking a break 😿

Nothing much. I've done some thinking of late, and I've grown tired of this place -- and it's not because of the lack of feedback nor the number of "blank" accounts fav-bombing everything I've posted.
In recent years, it's been especially difficult trying to be sociable and friendly when everyone else you want to know better are;
* In different time zones so talking at specific hours is impossible
* Predominantly on Twitter-X and nowhere else
* Only want to talk when they need a favour or free stuff
* Add you to their contacts and then never speak to you again (or remove you after a while)
* Too busy / too shy / just don't want to socialise at all
Plus, nothing I've done to encourage commissioned stuff in the past has worked either. And all the AI nonsense that's been floating around has been a big downer in general.
So yeah. That's the long and short of it.
I'll still be around to support other artists and fave their content. But for now, just don't expect anything new from me for a while 💔

Isn't AI art disallowed here? I know SOME users flaunt that rule, but I haven't followed if there's any enforcement on it. ....then again, in my admittedly limited experience, getting AI to make some as stupid simple as "Character eats ice cream" has been a monumental challenge. It -IS- an art, just not one that exhibits a personal touch.
The time zones thing can be a real issue, esp. if you speak English and are outside of the USA and/or have an odd schedule.
Sorry to hear you're having such a rough time. Really do hope things sort themselves out for ya.

Honestly, I really applaud you for being so open with your frustrations on how tend to be, especially on the internet. Nowadays, with how people carry themselves on the internet nowadays, it really just feels like everyone's either out for number one, no one has time to be friendly anymore, or people prefer snarkiness and being a hardass over sincerity and kindness. And when you do finally connect with someone, they either ghost you after a while for no reason whatsoever, use you as a trauma dumping post, or only poke at you when they need something (as you've mentioned previously), among other questionable things.
At this point, I've been through this whole song and dance so many times, through so many people, that it borders on both parody and patheticness--and out of all those people, who numbers in the double-digits, I can probably only say that I'm legitimately friends with at least two of them.
I'm sorry for this massive text dump, but I want you to know that you're not alone in feeling like this. Heck, I've been feeling like this off and on for so many years. I can only imagine how long you've felt like this, as well. I wish I came across you sooner, I would've taken an opportunity to chat with ya. I'm always open to make new friends--time zones be damned (I'm a night owl, personally)! Heck, I don't know if you're still around by any chance, but if it's at all possible, I'd be open to that.
That being said, I hope you're doing well, and that life's been treating you well during your break.
