Pride Month YCH (sold)
Do you like cats? Do you also like birds? Do you also also like hunks? Do you have $100? Then a career as a weregryphon may be for you!
I've posted a YCH auction for a quick story that combines my most flamboyantly gay gryphon, Pride Month, and a terrible 'curse' that can be hidden but never cured. If that sounds up your alley, Check out the YCH post by clicking here!
But of course, I can't let you off the hook that easily. There are important transformation matters to discuss, namely: What are some critters/monsters that you really want to see more of that you feel are underrepresented? What makes 'em special to you, and why do you think they don't appear more often?
For me there are two that I don't see much of and would love to see more: Dolphins and bugs!
With dolphins, I feel that there's fierce competition from the likes of sharks and orcas, both in terms of TF and with furry art in general. The same logic applies to other worthy sea creatures like bony fish (i.e. salmon, swordfish), pinnipeds, and most incredibly those sexiest of sea creatures: Nudibranches. With dolphins in particular you've got a pretty charismatic animal, but also a bit of a problem: They're kind of like grandma's favorite sea creature. Before Free Willy (which isn't exactly recent either), the cetacean with the most rizz and public exposure was the bottlenose dolphin, but since those times their popularity has dropped off. Add to that the fact that orcas have undeniable aesthetic bonuses among people who like black latex and/or black goo, and the venerable dolphin is simply outclassed. Still, there's a lot of potential there. Y'all should try it out.
As for bugs, I have a different theory on why there isn't as much TF of insects or arachnids, and surprisingly it's not a problem of charisma. The complexity of drawing segmented bodies and indecipherable mouth parts is just the start, but when you add extra limbs AND wings (which most insects have), commissioners get hit with surcharges. If you have a cute bug OC and an otter OC but you only have a limited budget to commission art of them, you'll pretty much go with the otter every time. The scamp. Still, insects have big potential in TF. They're about the closest inspiration we have for extraterrestrials, and the transition from a human to a humanoid bug is so radical that you can approach the problem in a wide variety of ways. Then again, if you want a cute bug person on a budget, I suppose there are Turians, which not only have the standard number of limbs but also have cheeky monkey faces with lips that go UwU...

How's this for some obscure Japanese vidya game music?

as for some other creatures that i would love to see more Exposure in general and TF's in particular...
Capybara, (big, chill, what's not to love?)
Norwegian Lemming/other exotic rodent species
Tanuki (the actual animal more than the Japanese Yokai version),
Binturong,
Bat-Anthros representing specific species
Coyote-anthros (there are SO many more wolves than coyotes in the fandom!)
Fire Geckos (Fallout NV)
Cazadores (Fallout NV) (yes i want an anthro danger-bug as an assassin or bounty hunter lol!)
Snapping Turtle/Turtles in general (surprised there arent more turtle OC's considering TMNT exists!)
Bobcat/other Small Wildcats (big cats are badass, but the littler guys need some love too!)
Male Lamia/Nagas (seen a few sexy ones, but see far more female ones)
Male Driders (especially if theyre cute guys with spider-bottoms <3)
Smaller Reptiles like Crested Geckos and Horned Lizards
Crustaceans
Aquatic snake Species (they look awesome and some of them are deadly as heck!)
Eels
off the top of my head! ^^;
I haven't seen any Cazador TFs or really sought them out, but I have seen a surge in Nightstalker OCs lately, and I'm all for it.
Also, I'd love to see some more eel characters. I feel like Moray Eels have the requisite fame (or infamy) to translate into some cool OCs. Representing their characteristics in an anthro form might be a bit tricky, but I feel like a long tail with eel-like characteristics could help with that.
and Cazadores just have this evil and dangerous-looking color scheme to them that i think would look fantastic on an insectoid anthro! bright and deep Red eyes, dark blue/grey iridescent chitin, and those DANGER!! colored bright orange wing membranes always manage to bring out a sense of "OH FUCK not these things again!" every time i play through Fallout NV! i just think about some Wastelander or Bounty Hunter who stumbles into Big MT and gets whisked away to an experiment chamber in the Cazador labs, emerging as an angry, very-dangerous hybrid of human and danger-bug who shoots and stings their way across the Mojave in a specially-modified trenchcoat, dual-weilding Plasma Defender pistols while flying overhead, it would make a BADASS Fallout OC imo! 🧡💛
and there are some AWESOME EEL SPECIES in the world that i truly think are being overlooked! for example, google the Austrailian Ribbon Eel, very colorful bois that would look badass in anthro form, dragon form, ANY form!! ❤️❤️
