Proud of Pride

Volunteered at my local Pride event today. Two things can be true at once: that corporations use Pride nowadays to promote their products, but nonetheless it's one of the rare times each year I see such a large gathering of queer people and our allies. I also still like seeing the different flags flown.
Yeah, pinkwashing and the corporatization of pride are rather against the original spirit. Pride was born as a riot. For that reason the idea of police marching are a mixed bag as well.
In my area (The SF Bay) there's a more progressive and revolutionary alternative, the trans pride parade.
