I feel more home with this definition as I am really here for the anthropomorphic art. At cons - I must say - the view point seems to be now on drinking and party. I am there to meet artist. Hm.
feel a bit lost.

What you linked looks like a state government site for children’s literature attempting to define anthropomorphism in children’s literature from that point of view, not the overall definition. Which if what I am reading is correct its fairly accurate if we are talking about children’s literature and nothing else. The generally-accepted definition still being the attribution of human characteristics or behavior to a god, animal, or object.
Now? If we’re talking about a much different discussion that is the geo politics of the fandom at large as it exists today yes it is a rapidly changing landscape and one that is changing in directions I do not like nor agree with either. I presume by the tone of your journal that you too are rolling your eyes and scoffing to this resurgence of the ‘Burned Fur’ movement within the fandom. A revival of peeps trying to sanitize and disneyfy parts of the fandom now a bit more intelligently by attacking different kinks, different types of characters, basically chipping away at things one ‘problem’ after another. Disnefying things like furs who play Roblox don't already have a habit of going to jail for flirting with kids online.
I've seen any manner of things from people who hate ferals to people who hate dog cocks and as of recently part of the Pokemon sector of furries have just been alienated from FA. You and I being fans of vore/disposal and your earlier works I know well yeah. Not long imo before people like us wind up on the chopping block.
Issue being this is a goal post we keep allowing to be moved arbitrarily based on nothing but often times one or a few people's opinions compared to tens of thousands who disagree. No one just finally puts their foot down and say 'enough is enough. It wasn't needed before its not needed now.' We've seen evidence all it takes is a tiny handful of people with the right connections to shift site policy any which way they want.
The problem with that, of course, is eventually those that demand things banned themselves end up being in the wrong because the line pulls back to them. We suffer and they only have themselves to blame.
But yes, the fandom is a lot more publicly intolerant these days and apparently this is acceptable now. So much for an open fandom.
however . My point was only I myself just feel lost because I wanted to talk with other artists at cons .. and ended up often at drinking parties. I totally understand that . but It is not what I was there for. Right now.. to those who aren't furries. we look like people drinking and party in fursuits and not art. I just do not fully see this image fitting me. XD i don't like to party.
What the real definition of furry was boring to them. They want content. Once someone said there is porn involved, they said, oh? there is a taboo side of it? Oh please do tell.
Then furries with small brains, shared only what the Journalists, the Producer of the documentary, mainly Fox Fire at the time in 2000'. After it was released publicly,
the fandom was in a HUGE outrage and was so super pissed off at these furries who did it. There were death threats, they were forced out of the fandom community. Almost all of them
had to quit because of the seriousness of being seen in public that they might get harassed from it. This is the start of the entire thing.
Then more and more stupid people said more thing about it, more camera whores. The producer wrote and made furry as if its created to be a sexual orgy made purposely for
furry cons. Now that everyone sees that this is now the new definition of furry, if a normie were to tell you what they see furry as, they will tell you we are perverted people hosting orgies at cons. The new era of furries heard about this, gay mainly, became the new furries you see today, thinking this is the fandom for porn, to masturbate. Now the fandom
has become this new generation of furries, mainly in their 20s now. They go to these to exactly expect play parties, drinking, partying. The cons indeed hosted them but it was never the main focus of Cons. Now today normie people see us as toxic sexual garbage and hate us, and even want harm on us. People crack homophobic jokes about us, just furry in general.
The fandom never used to be like this but it was changed by normal people who didnt give a shit about what was the real definition of furry. They manipulated it, and turned it into something we never said was. Yes the fandom around the 90s and early 2000s did have porn involved such as the art but it was a small amount. Its was like something we can relax to but not something that was suppose to become an actual Fetish. Yes, furry is now considered a sexual fetish. That is not what the fandom is but it is now since furries wanted to be in front of a camera and gave the wrong information and impression. The fandom is now considered a perverted toxic cancer we are told by toxic people today.
So if anyone wanted to know where it came from, the hate we get, the harassment, the trolling, the death threats and bulling, its because of what they heard by TV, shows and News Stations, turning us a laughing stock and an embarrassment.
A lot of the furry veterans either left/quit or passed away. There are only a handful of us elders left like myself who can say it has indeed changed.
So about the partying, thats from the new era of furries, 21-30 who sees the fandom as a party, as an orgy hook up, and if you dont post porn then they dont give a shit about it.
Thats all i have to say about that side of it. Theres much more but just wanted to explain the facts and life cycle of the fandom. It is indeed not the same anymore and
today now we are now Sex Addicts, considered what normal people heard about us.
The only way you can get anything you like out of it, like the art you said you are interested in meeting other artists etc, be the artist, gain the spotlight/getting noticed(mainly by the porn), then you start to get familiar by other artists, and fans, then you get the meet and greet. Back in the 90s/early 2000s it was much more of a network of artists, things were very basic. Might be easier today than in the past to meet but artists can be very private sometimes due to the obsession fans can have and a lot of them cause the artist drama and anxiety but still communicating is much easier today than it ever was back then. The community was more quiet, and private. Now its all open but not in a good way. Furries just wanted to do our thing and not let non-furs stick their noses in our business. Thats why when it first happened, there was pitchforks and torches on the internet.
I hope that explains what you were asking and the subject.
Im 43 now, i started furry in the year 2000. Also watch out for scammers who pretend to have a furry account only to scam people of their info, and bank account. Ive ran in to a couple on Telegram and are from India. They steal photos from furries and try to scam people. So watch out for that. If they cant answer your easy question, where was the photo taken, who drew the art? etc, then they arent a furry if they cant answer.
Love your art, i hope you still draw, never quit. Rawr *salute*
I am glad we see the same there. It is all okay to mee what the others see in it. I just do not feel like being there for those reasons. ^^
Wenn man das machen möchte feel free, jeder wie er mag, dann aber in einer privaten Gruppe und man sollte auch Alkohol verbieten, nicht nur andere Drogen um den Fokus mehr aufs Fandom zu legen. *East anschau*
Da läuft manchmal was falsch.
