Mufasa isn't real; he's an idea, a concept. You can do whatever you want with him. You know what you should do if you hate his new backstory? Make up your own. Don't just deny the canon; rebel against it. Your love for the original movie doesn't deserve to be tainted.

Sure, that's your decision to keep or rid of those pictures of Mufasa. I'm with ya buddy. I have no interest in seeing Mufasa. What really pisses me off is that its not a prequel to the original animated Lion King. It if was, it would've probably been done way better and I would've cared for it more. But since it's not the case, I'm avoiding it like the plague.

Disney has been putting out poor quality stories and reimagining of classics lately. I mean look at 'Wish', fans who discovered the original concepts are brining those to life showing us what we could have had instead.

with Mufasa you cannot re-imagien it anymore. The whole story is wrong from the moment they said : Scar and Mufasa are not brothers by biology.. it jsut doesn't work.

True. I don't think the writers know how monarchies work. Title of King goes to the eldest son, not so someone not related by blood. Only time a king can name someone not related to him as their heir is if they have no blood heir of their own. By making Scar the legitimate heir he became justified in killing Mufasa and taking his place as King.

I agree, that movie wasn’t even close to mufasa and scars origin story. If they actually adapted the prequel graphic novel tale of two brothers, it probably would have been better.

Ich verstehe das Problem nicht, warum sie europäische Märchen so verändern das z. B. Arielle schwarz wird. Ich hab so einige Bücher mit afrikanischen Märchen . Man könnte die doch mal verfilmen und afrikanische Künstler beauftragen? Aber naja. bin nur ich XD

Disney war schon seinerzeit nicht dafür bekannt, Kreativität walten zu lassen. Und schon öfter hatten sie die Hosen vor der eigenen Courage gestrichen voll. Man denke nur an das verschenkte Potential in Taran und der Zauberkessel, oder Cap und Capper, wo sie gleich die ganze Story auf links gedreht haben.

There is the original animated Lion King movies (which many consider the TRUE canon), and there is the live-action remake.

The movie Mufasa is part of the live-action universe. As such, if it makes you feel better, then you can consider it to be canon only on what it pertains to the live action.
Think of them as two parallel universes that, while similar to each other, are not obligatorily EXACTLY the same. As such, the contents of the Mufasa live-action may not apply to the original animated movie franchise. I guess a lot of people are doing that.

Guess it is the only way to cope with that
