Viper isn't actually as hard as it seems once you realize how to set it up. Picto is more straight forward with just more resource management (Hammer go Bamp!)
For Viper here's what I did: Set up a sort of "left" and "right" button for each of your main abilities then you keep the blade gauge just within your sight on your screen. If you watch carefully, the left or right blade will light up based on which of the abilities you should use next until you finish the combo. Extra tip, green action = flank, red action = rear.
