Yes... Those sexy, sleek, dark (or occasionally ivory) colored, often Egyptian themed canidae (dogs) taken from Ancient Egyptian depictions of the Judge of the Death, Anubis... Jackals. Or rather Anubis-type or Anubian Jackals.
Jackals, in reality have a close resemblance to Coyotes. Actually smaller, they are among the "bottom feeders" of predators and scavengers in Africa (Alkebulan). Usually, demeaned, in much the same way as rats are as vermin, despite having their own unique and important niche in a region with some of the most powerful and deadly animals on Earth, Jackals usually are not given much attention as anthropomorphic or furry archetypes. Why be a puny, weak, lesser Coyote who is just a lesser, albeit smarter or less emotional wolf, when you could be a sleek sexy god or his like kind? The number of jackal characters says it all. But those that are do stick out.
Because of how many anthro/furry style depict even sheer fur, it is often hard to say if an Anubian Jackal is "skin" or "fur". Personally, I usually err on fur. But skin is sound as well. This comes from the fact we are looking at a species that hails from a desert environment where fur is not always a benefit. Felidae (cats), save specific breeds, all have fur. But this does serve to protect against the sun as well as camouflage. When cleaned the fur can have a lustrous property that makes for example a Lion look like gold. For an Anubian Jackal, and some sheer furred dog breeds, such as Dobermans, which are the closest to Anubian Jackal in real life, their sheer fur when clean and lightly oiled can produce a shimmering effect that is not far removed, expect patterning, from reptiles. This can lend a notable bejeweled presence if not appearance that only serves to further elevate the Anubian Jackal's allure, both aesthetic and even erotic.
Anubian Jackals, who tend to resemble leaner breeds of dog, such as Doberman and more clearly the far older Saluki breed, from whom the depiction of Anubis as a Jackal was believed to be taken, are easily chosen for the enigmatic, mysterious, appeal of Ancient Egypt, and the desert kingdom fantasies that go with it. It does not take much research to have a sense of why such motifs inform the depictions of this species. Fit, lean, bronzed, often scantily clad (in some cases nearly or functionally nude) bodies depicted in poses and positions of strength and power, usually a reflection of Statuary common in Ancient Egypt.
Yes, I have been deliberately avoiding discussing the Erotic factors associated with Anubian Jackals. More to avoid the obvious, but the fact is Anubian Jackals are among the most innately sexualized Anthro/furry species without resorting to overly generous or even excessive endowments or posturing. They can look "normal" and have the same erotic appeal as a character whose endowments are ridiculous to extreme.
So how do Jackals fit into the overall Anthro/Furry species trends? I have not seen any huge upticks, as with Rats, the steady climb of Horses and Goats, ebbs and flows, as with perennial species, like Skunks and squirrels, or a constant presence like Wolves, cats, and Reptiles. Anubian Jackals are just a rarity that catches the attention are almost always pleasantly received, and can make you a bit jealous you did not spec your fursona or character as a, Anubian Jackal.
This was more a knee jerk stream of thought, and not something I gave that much thought to until I watched a video YT and reminded myself that Anubian Jackals are most likely the "sexiest dogs in the Anthro/Furry fandom". It is just REALLY HARD to make an Anubian Jackal NOT HAWT.

I have a rarely used breed of Aphkian, the Akyrri, who bear the resemblance to hounds more than wolves. I really have no idea why I don't use them other than the wolves, coyotes, and foxes do everything as well or better already. But Akyrri are considered more elegant, and attractive.
