I'm more likely to actually catch stuff on here than on social media because on the latter if you don't catch it right away it's buried for all intents and purposes.

I read more on twitter then FA now.

Twitter is a mix of a bunch of stuff

I see it I just usually have nothing to say.

Honestly I prefer a place like this where I can browse galleries and have a favorites gallery I can come back to.

Good luck trying to find that gem of a drawing from 10 years ago on twitter.

Plus this being an art site, you get mostly art from people. Follow an artist you like on Twitter and you might get 90% politics or w/e.

I read this stuff. I don't figure on social media being any good way to follow artists.

(I also follow a couple folks on Patreon but it's so easy to get busy and let that slip for a week and then discover I haven't logged in in four months. Well, I support people there to give them money so they can pursue their art, that's the important thing.)

Same as Clothoverlord, I prefer FA over the overwhelming nature of social networks such as Twitter.

That's all I use FA for, mostly; it is after all primarily an art hosting site, not a social media site. I don't often post or read journals tbh. I also avoid social media for the most part; I have little interest in broadcasting my thoughts to nobody in particular. As for reading journals of others I usually only bother to see if artists are opening up commissions or ychs. No offense but I have little to no interest in their journals otherwise.

Certainly for art I prefer seeing it on FA because on Twitter if I go to sleep and come back 8 hours later it means having to spend a long time scrolling through countless missed posts, or accept that I'll miss great uploads from people I follow.

At least on FA all the "missed uploads" are still here so I can catch up at my leisure.

I read journals sometimes, and I do enjoy having a gallery site that's designed for art and not for ... nightmare hellscapes occasionally broken up by memes.

I read journal post quite often.

I do read these! FA isn't the best site by a country mile but I still prefer it over Twitter.

I read it! Social media may be better for instantaneous communication, but FA and the like have much better longevity of art and journals.

I like the gallery here over DA and definatly over twitter.

I absolutely forget to read journals. It's rare that I actually go through them. It's part of why I almost never write any myself. ^_^;;

I also have a crap sense of the passage of time, so I don't even think to look for a journal if I notice an artist isn't posting. I mostly just don't notice. "Didn't I just see a picture from Foo just last week? ...Nope, that was a year and a half ago. Huh." Maybe I'm just getting old... Except I've been like that my whole life. ^_^;;
