NO idea, and apparently nobody else knows what causes it.
All I do know is, that apparently fluid in the back of your ear builds up and causes an inner ear problem. but what causes that to happen is unknown.

SOMEHOW, that then sends inconsistent jolts to your brain which causes vertigo and sickness.
Man the Human body is weird.

I had the temporary kind, where the crystals in your ear get some place they're not suppose to, so yes I do know what that feels like. They were able to fix it but damn did it suck not being able to turn your head without everything spinning.

right after I saw this my neck started hurting

I took a blow to the head years ago that left me occasionally dizzy and unbalanced. I figured it was the repercussions of the concussion, but as it turned out, crystals in my inner ear had gotten knocked loose and were floating around.

One night I woke up feeling as though I was floating. When I went to get up and move, my inner ear told me I had suddenly lurched forward several feet, but I had barely gone an inch. This lasted for an hour before the exercises my doctor had showed me worked to get the crystals (temporarily) back where they should've been.

Vertigo is rough, and just about the worst-feeling thing I've ever had happen to me. I hope you start to feel better soon! 🙏

Ear infections are some of the worst if that is what it was.

what is the vertigo caused by? i had benign paroxysmal vertigo for 2 weeks and every time i moved my head in a certain way it would spin and spin and spin. i fixed mine with something called the eply's maneuver. had to sleep sitting reclined for a while before it fixed itself. but this only happens when something knocks the crystals in your ear out of place.

This Trick doesn't seem to work for me. But maybe Im doing it wrong.
IDK, Tuesday I wok up to my left ear feeling full, and its pretty much deaf. no sound comes through it.

Then...I pretty much explained the rest already up top.
I feel like its getting better with the meds, but they cause me to sleep all day (today) If I turn my head abit to far to one side the vertigo comes back.

I think the most annoying part here, is being def in the left ear, and knowing whatever is happening in that ear is causing all of this.
I want it to go away, especially before my job suddenly decides it s time to pick work back up.

yeah if you get dizzy moving your head your crystals might be knocked out of place. they are what gives your body the ability to sense what is up and what is down. if they are knocked loose, you'll have this exact problem. medication isn't gonna help most likely. there is a different maneuver that might help you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQR6b7CAiqk - this explains it pretty well.

I think until my ear stops feeling clogged, I dont thi k this is going away
