Random - Character/Sona/OC Personalities ...
Thanks to a friend (you know who you are, ya bastard XD)
I MIGHT have another character...or 2 in the works.
But as Im planning and writing, it kinda hit me....
Any of you have Shy Characters?!
I do have one....ONE....Alterise. She has Herd Mentality deeply ingrained, preferring to be in groups for safety...and she is inherently fearful of Predator Species. Sharp Fangs, especially on a beast MUCH bigger then her do trigger her Flight Response.
But besides typical PREY behaviors, she is shy, and soft-spoken...usually.
Just randomly curious (and I love OC conversations) anybody else have shy characters/Sonas?

Is Leilani just shy when Dancing?
Even though everyone thinks she looks more beautiful
Besides Commission Costs, its trying to to decide on features and get references, that are always the hard part
I am curious though hehe
No Shy Characters?
If you think its specific, and you have a character that fits that, do share.
Yes, I have some shy characters too :)
And lol, dont just SAY you do, TELL ME ABOUT THEM...Post refs while your at it Dammit!
The Librarian is selectively mute and gets flustered if you break his concentration. He also blushes a lot if complimented, although he will not usually be the one to start a conversation.

I would say that Laudia is shy. Conversations with her can be short unless she feels relaxed.

OOo, feral Librarian~
Yes! He's special in the sense that I don't have very many feral creatures.
Lilly
A Dobermann-flavor hellhound, her infernal origin is entirely subsumed by the basic canine desire to be a Good Girl. Soft, sweet and eager to please.
Rachael Winter
A soft little marshmallow of a bunny, and an introvert to the core. She can be coaxed out of her shell by close friends, and has a little bit more confidence when she's with her twin sister, but even then she's a pretty meek little doe.
Brigit Cearnach
Not quite as shy as the other two, and as a princess she's had to learn to fake a degree of confidence in order to deal with such politics as she's involved in. But she's still a quiet, gentle girl who prefers the company of her flowers to the more adventurous antics of her older sister.
Alayna
Another borderline case, as she's more introverted than outright shy, but Alayna is far happier going off into the woods with her guitar than being a social butterfly. That she recently moved to an entirely new country and only knows one or two people there only makes these tendencies more pronounced.
Doberman-Flavor.....thats a Phrase
How is she shy, if she has the typical Canine Drive to impress? Or do you mean she is bashful?
-Rachel Winter-
That ref makes her look CONFIDENT XD
But ok, Meek and introverted....she sounds like a Loner type, but Sociable amongst friends?
Definitions could make things sound more complicated then it probably is XD
-Brigit Cearnach-
Hehe, would you consider her a Homebody? I mean it sounds like she is forced to be public at times, but is a recluse otherwise?
-Alayna-
I guess that is different, but my Brain thinks its the same thing. Man the English Language is so dam weird XD
Dumb question.....how does she feel about Electric Guitar? Would she enjoy such energetic Riffs, or would she prefer traditional Acoustic?
- Heh, thanks. I rather like it!
- That's a fair question. I mean more that she's bashful and meek and easily fluatered and kinda the exact opposite of everything you'd expect a Hellhound to be.
Rachael
- That it does. That's the problem with getting things done on a base. But I figure it's a good way to get her looks down without breaking the bank.
- I suppose they can, at that. I dunno if I'd say she's a loner as that kinda reads too dark and brooding. She likes peoplel and likes making friends, but in small doses. And while she can be more social among friends, especially if her twin sister is with her, she's never comfortable being the center of attention.
Brigit
- Basically a homebody, yes. She does enjoy wandering the forest near her home, and will happily take short trips to the beach in the summer. But she likes her flowers and being left in peace and quiet.
Alayna
- Could be a flaw in my thinking, too. In any case, she's another sweet little introvert. And yeah, English is pretty weird sometimes!
- Not a dumb question at all. I think she'd enjoy electric guitar, and while she is primarily a folkie, she does enjoy a wide variety of music and might enjoy some quite energetic riffs indeed. She mostly favors acoustic because she likes going into the forest to play and with an acoustic she doesn't have as much to carry with her.
Ulhart isn't very talkative due to trauma from war.
Motara lives in a culture where reputation is everything and she is very self-concsious about her clan affiliation due to a recent scandal. Because of this, she stays hidden away in the Catacombs where she works.
XD
-Ulhart- I thought looked pretty confident...if not just Haunted and Regrettable.
Would you say he just gets uncomfortable speaking on the past? Or does he seclude himself and act antisocial?
-Motara - Has an Antisocial Vibe, but not Shy vibe...but hey, maybe thats just the Art.
It's hard because of overlap and their personalities are shifting a bit as I write my story that features them.
But sometimes bad habits, just die hard XD
No refs, no Names....how Shy are they?
He/she can be super shy. (Kaira doesn't care if you call them a she either most of the it also can cause them to blush alot)
Theres also my tiefling Alya who hides behind her teammates and very first words uttered in the campaign were "oh no" after shooting an enemy
Is there a cause to this Anxiety? What service does her handler provide? Does he literally speak her wishes, or does he just shield her and literally speak on her behalf? Like...literally she doesn't say a word and is protected/coddled?
Heh, might be a cute and funny introduction to her.
It's been ages and i apparently decided to be coy about it all those years ago on her profile so i can't remember the exact cause anymore, i think it might've been tied to her environment being high-stress, a parent who was a little to vocal about the dangers of the world as well as being an underlying issue that went untreated and eventually just spiralled
Her caretaker would try to encourage her to speak for herself and interact with others but would end up having to speak her wishes for her, he was making progress just very very slowly
honestly i should probably bring her back as a character i miss that girl
Nathan Flemming (the fox on the left), one of my OG characters! Soft spoken, Introverted, used to have an anxiety fueled habit of scratching at a spot on his arm whenever things got overwhelming until a bald patch would form.
After meeting Shawn (wolf on the right) who is very much the opposite, that anxiety went away and, though he's still quite shy, he's more likely to get comfortable and open up to someone as he gets to know them.
.
Lisa - Originally a social butterfly was very open-minded and willing to talk to anyone. You might have to sew her mouth shut just to get her to stop talking for a while. But after various incidents she's now very aloof and standoffish. She gets very high anxiety spikes and tries not to let other people get too close to her. Over the years she's had many betrayals and doesn't know who's friend or foe. She cares deeply for the few "true friends" she's got but she's learning the hard way that some things you have to let go no matter how much you love them.
Zach - He's the "brain" of the bunch but he can still talk to people a little. He gets flustered talking in large groups but he's good at not showing it. He's very fact-driven and logical. So there's times where he doesn't quite understand things from an emotional standpoint like loving toxic families. Later on he does open up more to certain people but he still keeps things close to the chest because of his upbringing. In his specific circle he's the "mom" sometimes because he can be a bit of an enabler with the few he cares about.
Esme - Almost the polar opposite of Zach. She's the emotionally charged one but that also allows her to provide insight to others. Very "mama bear" mentality if she cares for you. But she's also the one that whips out the tough love because she doesn't tolerate weakness. She'll be there for you ride-or-die but you have to give the same energy back or she's not fuckin with it. With that being said she an be a little naive to some worldly things but she'll always stand by what she believes in. Sometimes this puts her at odds with Zach because she can be very "dad" like with the tough love. Those that interact with Esme either love her or hate her. There's pretty much no in between.
Alex - Easily the shiest of the 4, but that's not just due to not knowing people. He's had a very unique upbringing that's kept him isolated and he doesn't really get out much. He has next to no people skills and often speaks about situations that he has little viewpoints on and makes constant mistakes due to lack of knowledge. His world is very small and unstable which makes it difficult for him to interact with others. Later on he develops some of the highest levels in understanding of others...but that came at a very heavy cost.
makes me Sad my -Alterise- just suffers from Primal Genetics.
Although...small Critique...you gave me a 50/50 XD
2 are shy, 2 aren't really shy hahah.
But hey, Ill give you brownie points for a good read & lore dump.
I live for character Writing. Makes me wish I was better at it.
Hey it's all good, there's still pred/prey dynamics in my world but it's not so much predation as it is social mannerisms and social standings. Like Prey species kinda keeping to their own and predator species are the ones that are more social.
We love Alterise all the same, she's a good girl and a sweet baby. But I also get her shyness, sometimes it's hard to come out of your shell.
xD I DID do that, didn't I? My bad, though it is kinda funny because Zach and Esme are the older 2 and Lisa and Alex are the younger 2 so being a bit more outgoing kinda comes with age I suppose~
I bet you are good at it! I've read some of your descriptions! Honestly I don't feel like my writing is up to par either. So I try to work on certain things, but ultimately I just have to get down and lock in sometimes. xD
But Thank you~!!!
But, she has a Fake-It-Till-You-Make it way of Coping, as she must be confident and composed as a Seer.
Despite her being a very Emotional Creature.
But as mentioned above, she is much more confident and comfortable in Groups, especially with Friends and Fellow Ungulate.
Purely instinctual, inheriting roots from her feral ancestors in the wilds (Both Anthro and Feral)
Oh, btw thank you~
//////////////
Huh, thats actually interesting, the Prey are Loners while the Predators are Social. Mainly the idea of Prey ever being alone if they can help it.
Because being in groups is part of how they survive XD
pred/prey conflicts in my world are NEAR non-existent. Its like a...""better"" version of Beastars where, both Species live together in harmony. But, very, Very, VERY rarely, spikes from time to time happen where they dont get along, and a mental spike might happen that causes a generational relapse where someone eats or gets eaten....and it can be caused in stressful situations from conflicts and Politics. But again, in MY world, its just rare, but not completely non-existent
But yeah, I completely understand her mentality; there's always safety in numbers. Especially those that are similar to you, because it means that they likely have similar enemies or threats. And hey, fake-it-till-you-make-it is the only way to go for some of us. xD
And you're more than welcome!
But yeah, it's kind of backwards but Prey don't really align themselves with other prey just because it's kind of a situation were if there ever was a predation then most pray would scatter into their homes and not come out. Kind of like the mentality of: You don't have to be faster than be bear, you just have to be faster than your friends.
Not that they're selfish or anything, it's just that it's hard to tell who you can trust in the few areas where predation or things of that nature occur. The main predators in the cities are canines and they pretty much have a 'pack' mentality. So they always stick together (or at least try). Felines? Similar, but they don't necessary live together.
My world has a heavy emphasis on Morality, and there's an entire city/condition of people that essentially "lose" their humanity. These types of people are either 100% loners or they are with someone/group exclusively for connivence. Everyone in this city is some form of criminal and they WILL exploit/kill you if given the opportunity.
A tell-tale sign is the sclera (whites of the eyes) becoming Black: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/60668883
I have Cassandra, a large, fluffy arctic wolf who may look quite imposing, but is really quite painfully shy around strangers. Quiet and introverted, she and Alterise would agree on onen thing. It's good to have packmates who you can rely on to keep you safe!
Also, Equinox, a quiet, bookish mouse who lives up to species stereotypes by being rather wary of strangers and generally somewhat meek and retiring unless she knows you very well. Or you somehow get her into a good TTRPG session where she can kinda hide behind her character's persona a bit.
Safety in the Herd...Safety in the Pack
NEEEERRRDDD....still cute
But yes, agreed, they can be~
She’s a very sweet, gentle, loving, caring, generous, humble, religious, spiritual, soft spoken, and a deeply compassionate soul with a heart of gold.
She can also be very shy especially on subjects regarding the size of her tits. ;)

Lol its fine. Not even an important Journal or Discussion
Oh fuck....she is actually ADORABLE...huge tits aside
Is she shy at all to the degree that she avoids interaction?
Just easily Bashful?
Yet now that you ask that I just realized I was wrong, Keira isn't my shyest character.
It's her and Tragen's future daughter, Lyra, who's my shyest who I have yet to get a picture of. But yeah as a four year old toddler by the time the story she's introduced in occurs, she's extremely shy and bashful to the point of avoiding interaction. She has to get to know you first before she opens up some. But she's got the same sweet and compassionate pure of golden heart and loving soul as her mother Keira.
