As someone who attempts to keep their gallery correctly labeled and curated in a manner that it doesn't leak to the wrong viewers, taking advantage of basic rating systems, labeling, tagging and acquiring alts for the things I get, I certainly understand the feelings behind this rant.

My own likes and tropes are dark as pitch sometimes, and I made this account as an outlet to bleed off that pressure and share in it with like-minded people unapologetically.

But there's definitely some key elements to that, namely "with like-minded people".
And absolutely no occasion should RP be public (in my opinion), kink-based or otherwise. That's like inviting someone to read your mail.

Tags, rating, vetting, even censorship when you're putting something forward in the wild internet regardless of platform is essential to ensure the lowest likelihood of it being presented to any viewer it wasn't intended for.

The last thing I want is someone who isn't into the things I am having even five minutes of their time ruined because something I posted didn't sit well with them.

This opinional you've put out has got me back to assessing how I go about that and pondering if I can improve the practices I have in place further to prevent the kinds of frustration you've been experiencing from happening to others on my account.

Damn, that was a read. Definitely agree with a lot of the points you made. Espesh how normalized cruel or apathetic vore has become. The whole worker thing about falling victim to preds (hell there is also college students sometimes eaten by their professors or bullies trope), never did sit well with me. Especially nowadays when you try to make ends meet, it can be seem as those scenarios mock you and find you expendable. And honestly I'm pretty fucking tired of that shit myself. And don't get me started on preds SPECIFICALLY designed to be cruel and irredeemably evil, and you end up seeing prey facing a miserably sad end. It makes me disgusted for being into vore at all, this isn't what I signed up for. Granted I got some pieces myself, but I often clarify it never is nearly this level of dark. Unless I'm addressing evil preds to be the target, just to show them a taste of their own medicine.

All in all, yeah, vore has gotten way too heartless, and we shouldn't have to deal with that especially in today's climate.

Cruel preds do have a place, but only as a mood and a vibe and even when I use my go-to "cruel pred" action, it's consensual non-consent among me and the owners of the characters. I also never ever do perma, but there's people out there who will happily try to sneak it in when it's not wanted. So many people these days only pursue their own dreams and desires and have lots of joy when they get that off of someone else's character's expense. I know that I and others have definitely had our stomachs twisted by this sort of thing over time; I don't like it and I don't like to associate with it. For me, vore is like a cartoon -- it can't happen in real life and it stops existing when you turn off the tele. If you want to have fun with it from a sexual standpoint and the characters are into it in a "theatrical" way, that's more than fine, I totally get it. But if you can't reach your peak without seeing someone else's character meet a dismal and horrible end, that is something that is a problem and you need to talk with someone qualified to handle that.

In short, I totally agree that the vore community needs to take a big step back and try being the change it wants to see in itself.

The comparison to cartoon and theatrical definitely is how I prefer seeing it. It's characters playing a role, rather than actual horrible fate said characters experience. That's how it is with mine even when "fatal" vore is involved. It's moreso just to give it that satisfying clincher, and boom you still see that prey on the next episode just fine. Not scarred or anything.
Maybe I'm not outright condemning cruel preds, just voicing my own preference of not having a world where the worst type of people get to do what they want to the point of other's expense.
It's another reason why I tend to play the role as a hero pred, some preds don't want things to burn.

Exactly! You get it! Fatal vore and cruelty should just be for the sake of a script. Despair and dismay shouldn't be a vital part of the kink, and whenever someone gets off to the final death of someone who doesn't deserve it, it's not just a sloppy and lazy way to retire a character, it makes you look like a total bastard for enjoying it. Save it for a one-off if you need to get your rocks off that bad, or better yet, learn to enjoy vore without killing somebody. It's that sort of thing that gives the entire fetish a bad name, and I work very hard to give people a better option. It's a shame that the people who turn others off of vore only need to do one thing while I need to do like ten or twenty things good to make the same impact.

I admittedly am nervous to off background characters as well, so I treat them as anon volunteers to playing the "death fodder". Also in my kind of roleplays, fatal vore deaths would be as inconesquential as having a cold. "But you died, I saw your bones! "I got better?" I don't care for consistency, I prefer prey to view their previous fates as vague flashbacks at best, just enough for them to feel familiar with vore scenarios. Anyway, like you said there doesnt even have to be fatal vore either ofc. Mainly I'm not into the sadistic, cuz even as a voracious pred, I want my prey to have fond memories when being food, unlike a certain Haungar...

I don't really have anything to say other then I agree with this, though I feel the whole "getting off on characters dying horribly" thing has a tendency to happen more with human pred (especially the caption garbage you see all over deviantart) and/or with canonical characters (i;e ash's pikachu as apposed to just a random or oc pikachu). might just be me though.

Lmao, wish I could come out of my shell like that. Wish I had more input but like... I really don't, I've kept my expectations so low lately that I've been very slowly writing off vore as a whole to begin with.
