This isn't going to be long, because... I don't think I'm much qualified to speak on the life of Sean P. Piche.
What I am qualified to speak on is the ideals that Dragoneer stood for, the fury I feel for his death to the American healthcare system, and... what having this place for so long has meant for me.
even if I'm just a brick in the mural of creativity that is this place, I'm glad to have my place here. I'm thankful that someone who cares so much for this community put his everything into making sure this place remained the free, largely sanitized but artist forward webspace that it always has been.
that... that last Bluesky post of Dragoneer's is so chilling... that saddled with debt as he was, he was given no choice in the matter, no option to continue his stalwart stewardship of the furry fandom, and... it really puts into perspective just how much we dance upon the knife's edge.

I was recommended this place by another artist and set up here 18 years ago. The fact this website is still here and functioning is one hell of a feat when so much web media from the time is lost or absorbed by larger corporations. I don't think I'd have had my 5 minutes of pseudo fame without this place and I've met a lot of interesting people through it.
It angers me to no end the way he was treated by the medical profession there. The system working wholly as intended. People deserve better than the mess that is the American health care system.
