In the wake of the news of  Dragoneer passing away unexpectedly, I've seen several folks on the site sharing not just their memories of Dragoneer and their sorrow at his death, but also their gratitude towards him. And, though I barely interacted with Dragoneer personally over the years, that latter sentiment is one I really do wish to share myself.

While I started posting my stories on Yiffstar (now SoFurry), it was FA where they found a bigger audience over time, and it was the support and consistency of the community here on FA which allowed me to take the huge leap in 2016 of going full time with my writing. This site and the people it brought together has truly changed my life for the better, allowing me to make a career that when I was a kid I 'wanted' to do, but set aside as a "But I realise that will never realistically happen" fantasy.

So yeah, thanks to  Dragoneer for the massive role he played in making my dream come true by creating and supporting FA all this time. His legacy continues not just in the site's presence (which I hope will continue for a long time to come) but also in every piece of art, writing, music and other creativity that has only been made possible because of this site and community.
