Welcome to INCtastics Journal I am incredibly saddened to hear the news, even more so as to their cause.
Furaffinity may not be the most modern furry art site, but damn if it's not one of the most stable sites and reliable. I have been here for over a decade and it is still a pleasure with a great gallery feature that is easy to navigate.

yes FA has it's issues, yes we get ddos-ed periodically but still
it's generally quite reliable and it has been a point where furries can gather.
Honestly, the last ddos is quite far back, I don't remember it...
For nearly 20 years now... which is quite the achievment.
He did some very good things for the community
There's actually probably a lot of minor DDOS attacks every so often which cause you to get stumped by cloudflare.
Probably, we just don't really see it often
