Fleeting life

Needless to say, I was not expecting to wake up to such a news as the passing of one of the most well known, recognizable, influential figure of this fandom.
Regardless of what you think of him and what he may have done, he's still the forger of an incredibly strong community hub, he still helped many, and many more will grieve and be hurt by this event.
This is the first journal I make here, never felt I needed to use this feature, though I think it's fair to say, the helm of this place passing is worthy of at least expressing condolences towards his friends and family.
This fandom wouldn't be half of what it is today without 'neer for all the flaws he may have had, all the mistakes he may have made.
May he rest in peace, the way he died was abhorrent to say the least, no healthcare system is without its flaws, but the way the US healthcare failed him while draining him of tens of thousands of dollars is revolting, a proof that no, private healthcare and paying more does not give you a better treatment, greed does not lead to good care.
This is going to be a deep wound, for many have lost a friend too soon, and many more had their life positively affected by him. Life is short, sometimes too short as I personally experienced not all that long ago, always treasure those you love, cherish the time spent with them, and the memories of those who are gone.
Y'all take care, and be the best that you can be.
