In the past several years, I've had genuine mental breakdowns and depressive episodes over having to watch helplessly at what the art world is becoming. Rampant AI, algorithms, corporate greed, the idea that we're meant to be nothing but a profitable content machine. One by one I've watched every platform I grew up with be twisted into some fake shell of its former self, grow more disingenuous and callous towards artists by the day... every platform, except for this one.

FurAffinity is the one remaining art site that I have always felt 100% comfortable on. FA has always been about the artists, the artwork, the community, the passion and love we have for this fandom. I can let down my walls here, enjoy art as it is and as it's meant to be. Getting more into furry art saved me as an artist.

I didn't expect Dragoneer's passing to affect me this much. It hits way too close, and I'm so freaking appalled by how preventable it was. He didn't deserve this.

I'm so sorry for how the system failed you, Neer. No matter what happens next, I will be forever grateful for this space you made for us. Rest easy.
