Call me a coward, call me lazy....but besides my attachment to this place, I dont like the competition.
Ive tried every Alternative, Ive tried every ""FA KILLER"" that has popped up and everyone flocked over to. Im honestly not a fan of their formats or structures.
I made other accounts mainly just in case FA shits itself and I needed to reach out to people until it got back up.
Furaffinity FA is Full of issues and can stand to make ALOT of improvements, some of which said competition has....but I like it here...I like the Simplicity of this place. The closest one Id say I could have had a future with, is SF - SoFurry.
Im not a fan of a website with a ton of features and big presentations...that need to upload & download a ton of assets to load a pretty page that will lag my computer.
Many people I dont want to ever see again have also fled to these other sites.
And I hate social media, besides the garbage that happens, its a SHITTY place to have a gallery.
So just, I do hope there is a plan to keep this place running, and maybe even see improvements.
If not...then Im out.
Id update all of my accounts to announce my retirement. And Possibly upload my favorite commissions, and call it a rest.
But I think Id still try to keep up with some of you lovely people.

I personally made an inkbunny account, as well as a weasyl account. I've never used either. I know the bad reputation that goes with Inkbunny, but they have a blacklist feature for tags, so I'll use it.
Thats some next level shit.

But, yeah, I dont want to get used to a whole new ecosystem and be in an environment with distasteful and legit nasty people that have left FA.
Then social media like twitter/X and bluesky and stuff, all of that can burn.

But as I said, Ive been to these other Platforms, I have accounts made, Ive browsed and uploaded and took it all in...and from experience, Im not a fan.

With that being said, you're awesome to talk to so (heaven forbid) if you ever DO retire, you gotta give me your Discord if you have one so we can still chat!
But, I do not. They either have their own silly rules (One place has a ban on ferals But accepts Dragons and Gryphons....so it cant even fully commit to a feral ban. And the discussion around it before it was official...was...silly.)
Or just overall like I said its the format. Some of these places have messy menus, or a bunch of things I dont care about that actually bog down my PC. (It is a shitty laptop so... XD)

Despite everything, and the competition.....its been around forever, it has that Legacy, that familiarity.
Its hard to leave it and be in a new community.
I play FFXIV, and have seen tons of other games come like ESO, Tera, and more. And I noticed despite all of the hatred towards WoW and Blizzard in general, these same people always flock back to it. And talk about it.
Which is where I can see that, WoW just has a Lagacy to it. Its been around forever, its become a whole Fucking Culture.
And that is not easily replaced.

But as its a topic of conversation, I just felt like adding my thoughts. And, years ago, Ive had these same thoughts if FA were to ever crash forever.
I might be chosey, because I dont house like a big hub I personally want to manage, and...man, Im not sure if Id be able to comfortable manage a large contact / friend group.
But these are future thoughts.
I don't mean to be all Doomsayer and shit, Ive just seen a good handful of people talking about it, and so it just made me want to give my thoughts on ""-IF- FA were to go down""
I dont remember when or if you were a follower at the time, but Ive expressed these thoughts before.

Ive had these thoughts before way in the past, back when FA actually shit itself and went down quite a handful of times.
But yeah still, I hope to see a good future here despite these grim tidings.
Sure there is a Furry Presence on DA, but its mostly hated there. And yeah, the social aspect on DA is also very......bad.
FA has a much more Social aspect to it, although with all the drama and exodus is the past, and with politics flooding the community, that social has sharply diminished.

One a more personal level -- How are you doing? I remember you posted about health issues recently, and I hope you managed to recover.

My health.,....its.....ok.
Im LEAGUES better then I was several weeks ago, but I still suffer a light and more mild form of vertigo.
And I am just, deaf in my left ear. And....its almost been a whole month, it shows no sign of recovery, so Im feeling like this is permanent.
Which upsets me....but we adapt.
Also a great reminder, life is random, shit can happen at any time.
Good to know your health has improved, at least to some extent, but sorry about your hearing. So you don't hear anything at all on the left side? Have you talked to some doctors/specialists, to figure out if it can be fixed somehow?
Got that right -- Always keep a shovel and/or umbrella ready, in case the universe decides to throw some shit your way.
It was funny to hear from the Founders that it wasnt even mean to be geared towards Furry. And I feel like that hurt it.
But besides that, for me agai, its a formatting issue. Maybe it will improve it they saw more traffic, but it was exhausting to get a bunch of messages and there is not cutoff. so I had a sea of text I had to scroll through.
Most of it was just super fucking petty...but I think FA actually became better a whole, it sort of Culled out the bad (Its not perfect, of course)
They lose it when they leave.
