The End of an Era
a year ago
I never thought I'd actually say this, not this year at least.
Dargoneer, the owner of Furaffinity and an important figure within the furry community, has passed away.
The news came as a surprise to myself; I was not aware he was facing serious health problems until the time of his passing. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and closest friends. No one deserves to die the way he did. The mood here on furaffinity and other platforms is somber, in mourning, angry at the US healthcare system for for its pursuit of unfathomable financial gain. I never knew him personally, only replied once maybe twice to a few tweets he made back when I was on Twitter. For myself and many others where furry makes up a large portion of our non-working lives, it's a time for us to stop what we are doing and pay respect to one of our own who's now gone.
Rest in Peace, Sean. Myself and the rest of the furry fandom thank you for keeping this space open so we could share art and form lasting bonds.
