Base your prices upon your skill, and upon what you are willing to do. Don't let anybody think you will just draw anything they want you to. You do very nice work and I think that anyone you would do adult work for should feel priveliged, not entitled.

I think that it's important for the artist to be as interested in the subject as the commissioner. I will not draw anything for somebody that I don't have any interest in doing, and I tend to draw things nobody wants to look at. I think you'll do just fine.

The first thing you should understand is that showing genitals or nipples != "porn." There are zealots (and just plain ignorant people) out there who will say ANYTHING of an adult or erotic nature or even bearing too much skin is "porn." As long as you understand this, you can draw the line (literally) where you will and will not go with adult artwork. Don't be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone once in a while, but don't let the Almighty Dollar tell you exactly what you need to draw if it goes against your principles.

The classy pinup style you have now is suited perfectly for plain nudes without being adult or even very suggestive in nature. I say just keep doing what you're doing with less clothing and you'll be fine.

lol I am not used to that, living in Europe and all, naked people's nudity, not porn haha.

I think a lot of people think that I am a lot more innocent than I actually am (including my bf :S)
I just don't see sex as something un-innocent lol, so I don't actually have many principles. lol
The only real principle I hold is that it should look good, and is in some way artistic rather than just jerk off material.

It's a good idea just to draw what I draw now but without clothes, lol I hadn't really thought about that!!

I always assume people are more prudish than they let on just because I don't want to inadvertently overstep a boundary. I wouldn't say sex is "un-innocent," but it's perfectly natural and part of being a sexually-reproductive creature--we're just shamed into believing it's a "naughty" or "pornographic" thing through various forms of indoctrination.

I would love to see your take on "porn" based on what I've seen already. Your work definitely has class and style, so I'd like to see where you take sex.

It's weird, I've been bought up Christian and the first time I did it, I thought I'd feel bad in some way, but I was amazed at how little of a problem it was for me, I felt certain that there's nothing wrong with it - certainly nothing god would send anyone to hell over!

I'm kinda with calaverx11 on this as far as not doing it just cuz you think others want it, but if you are truly curious then by all means.

I was afraid to even show a naked pair of breasts for a real long time, then I just decided one day there was no reason to be worried about it and I just did it. I've got a couple pieces in my gallery now that are pornographic, but I only do this stuff on rare occasions. I think classy pinups and tasteful porn is much better than just a bunch of sloppy penetration shots.

As for price, I just set mine at the same rates my other commissions go for. Its all art to me and it takes the same amount of time. However, be very clear up front what you are willing and not willing to do. And if someone wants you to do something you're not comfortable with, don't be afraid to tell them no. You're the artist, you're in charge. =)

I share your sentiments about it, I don't like to see all the sloppy penetration stuff that's just porn and nothing else, there's not any value to that.
