A Peek Into My Mind. Be Afraid.
In today's Dick Tracy, the fourth day of this Minit Mystery arc, Tracy continues to speak (via an interpreter) with a key witness, the cleaning lady at the nightclub where the dead tango dancer worked. The cleaning lady notes the aftermath of the argument between the dancer and his partner; the break-up of the act caused him much mental anguish. A driving force for events?

I will note that Leo made the mistake of looking at the comments on GoComics; I'd warned him about those. It certainly shook him, and I had to give him a little pep talk. Happily, the pep talk seems to have taken. &^%$#@ Stymphalian Bird-commenters.

You're not the average commenter, for which a number are grateful. And you'll notice Toler couldn't help himself with a sneer.

Stymphalian Birds! I had forgotten all about them -- the Harpies get a lot more press.

I recall them from Agatha Christie's callback to them in "The Labours of Hercules." I think I first heard about them from, of all people, my father, who took Greek at Clongowes (required for gentlemen in those days).

When I was a kid my big brother passed down D'Aulaires' Book of Greek Myths. I have much more sophisticated stuff now, but it's a 'first love' thing.

I continue to like this art. It has the look of older European comics. Walking characters walk like Hergé characters.

I'll be damned. You're right. That's among the most insightful comments I've had on any of my DT arcs.

Thanks! I read a lot of Tintin. (I still have my Golden Book editions from the 1960's which were sold at cut-out prices at E.J. Korvette.)

Good Lord, there's a name from the past, E.J. Korvette.

I lived in the Southside Chicago suburbs. We had a few. They were great for records.
