Dont get me wrong, I love how they look: but I realized rather painfully that if I make the fur look realistic, I'll have to make everything else look realistic and that is just too much work for one person. That includes the hair, which I can spend hours in xgen just tweaking hair curves until I get beautiful realistic hair, but the resulting conversion to mesh can go into the thousands, if not tens of thousands of polygons: not fun when you're working on a rig with multiple characters grafted on to it.
