[IMPORTANT!] For commissioners (from 11/01/25)
General
The shipping of originals is possible again! There are still restrictions (no available to Australia, Poland, Finland, Ukraine).
The expected cost is quite high - at least $20 (for standard illustrations, because I attach a sheet of bound cardboard for greater safety - and this makes shipping more expensive)
Also, the only payment method that looks like stability is card/PayPal payment via hipolink/boosty.

This is really my fear, & one of the reasons why I hesitate to sell prints & stickers.
I believe that I will temporarily switch almost completely to digital, obviously this is the type of comms that does not care about the problems of the material world.
Honestly, as far as stickers and prints are concerned, I don't think you should worry too much about it. The cost of sending these items is very low, and in fact, letters are lost quite rarely. The question is whether you will make a profit from such small orders, because shipping can cost even more than they themselves - and it is not cost-effective:V
Under the circumstances, I assume that the cost of the shipment has increased by 30%! it is more expensive, but the convenience is simply missing. I would also have to spend money to get to the post office, lol. It didn't make sense anymore. This is a huge disadvantage of traditional art and craft - you have to do photography, editing and sending - it's so exhausting.
If the post office next to us would reopen, I would be very happy about it. Excellent people worked there, who always did their job well. Maybe if they had reopened it, the same employees would have been working there. I don't know. But I would be glad to get the status quo and not fall lower to the bottom, you know. *Dissatisfied deer noises*
This situation sucks a lot. I feel like selling digital art became harder already ( with the increase of Paypal fees, AI thieves, restrictions & all ), so I can't imagine what it is for traditional art. The postage getting more expensive is definitely not what you needed.
Is there a reason why the post office closed ? Perhaps it will reopen soon.
I just don't want to be considered a digital artist. Honestly, I really don't want to be one. But I'm glad I was able to master it so quickly with just a mouse, huh.
As for the closure, I do not know the real reasons. They say that maintaining state-owned mail is not a profitable business (since when have government agencies been treated as a business. A bunch of greedy assholes). So the closure of the points occurred in a lot of cities for no apparent reason. I suppose this is also due to the fact that Putin is a bloodthirsty bastard who is sorry to spend an extra cent on something constructive.
I mean, actually knowing the reason why life gets more complicated doesn't help in solving problems in any way. My whining sounds more like a vent thread, but yes. I'm tired of being disappointed in life.
By the way, it's very kind of you to give me some time. You have a neat style, although I can't appreciate it properly, unfortunately. Fuzzies, you know;3
You can always be both. I think some people would still be interested by commissioning you for traditional art even if you don't ship your art ( although, not everyone has the same opinion as me ).
The government is very corrupt where I am, so money often goes to politicians' hands instead of being used for infrastructures & public services. I guess it's far worse if you're in Russia. I like to be hopeful & to think that stuff will improve overtime, but it's rarely the case.
Thank you ! It's always nice to talk to fellow artists. By the way, I recently expended my SFW account here. I just prefer not to mention it often because I want to keep this account separate. (^^;)
Yes, I would consider it as one of the types of my creativity. Those who watching are generally used to my gallery looking like strange stuff. The main thing is not to forget about it.Yes, you are right, and I hope that it will be so.
Truth. Good luck to both of us:3
That brings back memories, I started with scanned sketches colored digitally very crudely (with a mouse) and pixel art as well when I only have a mouse. I got my pretty cheap and simple drawing tablet a few years a ago, I felt like it was one of the best purchase I made, so I think it's worth it to consider getting one too. :D I was really really happy about it back then cuz that's the only way I wanted to start drawing (it felt really difficult to start doing traditional art for me, I just felt really awkward about having a bunch of physical furry art lying around when I was living with my family X'D, and I will need a dedicated space for doing art unless it's only with dry media :P). It took me a while to get used to not looking at my hand as I write and draw on the computer screen but soon I found that to be quite beneficial for my noodly neck in the long run. X'D
I like digital a lot for the convenience and the new possibilities, but I understand the appeal of wanting to stay traditional :3. I ended up using the drawing tablet for my studies as well even until now :D, and I also got a tablet a year ago that makes digital drawing even more intuitive, but I still like my cheap digital tablet a lot. :D
I'm pretty sure that the first artists in game development did their art in a similar way. I could imagine the disappointment of a person who sees mix art in gallery that is comfortable and calling, and then he will see the original, which obviously can't be that way sparkle. They would cry if they could. The traditional feels more alive.
Combining traditional and digital is a good idea, I'm sure it would make my traditional work even better, thanks to shading. But I don't do this based on the logic of "you should be able to do all this in a traditional way." After all, painting should not seem like a stub from the art in the gallery. I may be somewhat biased, but if the initial task is not to make mix out of traditional and digital, doing it is kind of disrespectful to traditional work. You'll have a picture of improved art, and the original will be so miserable and unnecessary.
Hehe, fortunately for me, my relatives have always seen only drawings of animals and dragons etc from me. None of us knew what a furry was, I just drew animals and cartoon anthro.
More drawings, Dreamy! They're so cute:O
Yes, exactly! Definitely. Well, I've already completed 3 digital comms, and believe me, in the 3 weeks that I started working with digital and only with it, I've become really good at it. I found the tools that fit me, you can see results later. It impresses me. And this is another proof that when you know a technique well, it will be easier to master the second one. And then let's master the third and tenth. Traditional art, embroidery, felting, now digital. Come on, just throw your dollars at me so that I can keep experimenting all my life XD
And I'm also glad that you and the others were able to get your originals. I'm sorry that I have to give up on this. Getting your hands on art is so nice, and very special.
Unfortunately, my craft will suffer the most from these changes. I didn't have a demand for them before, but now it will completely lose its meaning, so damn sorry. Thanks for the support, Rat mate!
I’d hate to see your love of traditional suffer because of something like that
I’m sure there are those who might understand and still com trad art regardless of their ability to get it mailed to them
Just a thought
Big hugs
