General
I'm a small and slow artist, but the last few months have shown me that the problem is not that I'm lazy, or really slow. I don't want to discuss the difference between tracing and references, but I've been taking such a long time because I try to draw everything on my own, without tracing. I can tracing a complex technique, architecture, or something else. And you can be sure that if you're asking me exactly how it was drawn, I'll tell you the truth. But everything else (posture, etc.) is always from scratch, always learning and deepening knowledge and skills. I thought I was a bad artist if I had to use multiple references every time to draw the eyes correctly, or correct the entire figure several times if it was with proportions, space, or others.
Do you know how many references I use for my work? There are often about 50 of them in my folder. And all this time I thought that I was a bad artist if I needed to study all this, because others do everything faster and use only a couple of pictures. Well, now I know it's not like that. It's just that I work the old-fashioned way most of the time, from everything I've seen lately. Okay. I really don't want to make the process easier, because if I do that, I won't be proud of my work.
Sorry for this arrogant? whining. I just wish I could be fair. To have prices that can be available to a wide range of furries, but at the same time, I want to buy good food, pay bills without fear, provide for my family, and save for medical expenses and retirement. I won't have any of this if I don't raise prices from time to time. I'm fine and safe, but I'm an adult, and I don't have to rely on my mom or her parents to live. I mean, I'm just ashamed that I earn so little by working so hard. I love my job, that's why I'm here. Every year it gets a little better, and I'm grateful for that. Excuse me. I'm going to try something in the future so that my prices are affordable for different budgets, despite the price increases. I hope I will remain in demand.
I will make changes to all the price lists at the end of the year. Until then, I will try to contact a couple of furs who were interested in the slots. But I don't think I'll have time to accept anyone else besides them. Old customers still have a good discount.
Take care of yourselfs, thanks.
