For anyone who doesn't know, I'm a trans man, and after coming out and becoming more comfortable with who I actually am, it occurred to me that my denial of self was a big part of why I could never find a penname name I felt comfortable in. I always felt like it had to be a certain way, contrary to what I really wanted it to reflect as an extension of myself. Now that I've recently decided on a new chosen name for myself IRL, it not-so-surprisingly seemed to also soothe the penname dilemma as well.

I've been jumping around names for most of my life, and not because it was fun. Turns out it was a side-effect of bouncing around within imaginary boundaries I placed on myself, yearning for what was just beyond it.

I guess I felt like finally explaining why it seemed to anyone on the outside why I've been so flaky over names and abandoning accounts to start all over again, which probably seemed weird because it was never drama-motivated (unless you count my own internal drama.)

Yes, I did make a new account, but for the first time it feels like my forever home.  chiffontail
