Update on how I'm doing since the fire
a year ago
It's been roughly a month and 2 weeks since the complex fire, so I figured I'd give a status update on how I'm doing.
Me, my mom, my brother, and pet rabbit are all fine. Insurance is ready to make the loss claim, and cleanup crews after the fire were able to recover a significant amount of our belongings thanks to our apartment being away from the extreme heat. The worst that happened was extensive water damage and asbestos contamination, which means anything fabric or paper had to be left behind for reasons regarding to risk of health (asbestos is scary stuff.)
Sadly it means all of the art I made in school and while bored are contaminated and unsafe to bring out, so all I have left are the pictures I took and / or uploaded to FA.
We'll probably be fully on our feet by the end of the month or the start of September once we make the claim.
