Commission Prices (In Medieval Currencies)
As it stands right now, in light of demand and availability, my writing prices are as follows:
* 8 Frankish livre per codex of bound vellum, 3 Frankish livre per codex of linen parchment of papier.
* 5 goats in fine health per epic poem, or 3 she-goats of silken coat.
* 2 skippund of hacksilver per month of in-person barding.
* 11 rounds of good cow's milk cheese, or else 14 ceiniogau of silver coins, per opera of prose.
Okay, just kidding. Here's what I'm really thinking; please bear in mind that I don't know what the hell I'm doing and that my fellow writers-for-hire might slap me.
* $2 (USD) per 100 words, which comes to $20 (USD) per 1,000 words. That's approximately four pages in 12-point Times New Roman, for reference.
* $3 (USD) per 100 words / $30 per 1,000 words if the project requires a great deal of research or worldbuilding. This would be discussed and established ahead of time.
I'm kink-friendly and not at all squeamish, but I draw the usual lines. You know the ones.
