My drawing last week was in bad taste and perhaps premature but https://shop.furaffinity.net/collections/dragoneer-memorial-collection on this very site now you can be sold merchandise based on the no-longer-living status of Saint 'Neer, complete with the creepy little infinity symbol that makes the accounts of deceased site users. They want him to be like Elvis Presley or Michael Jackson, other people who had crummy lives and couldn't manage money but whose estates make a eh killing off their deaths, with the difference being this is just some weird dragon thing that hardly anybody has heard of rather than an international celebrity. They can say it is to raise money for whatever they want --and I am still not completely sure who "they" is-- and it will still be trashy to me. Even just these dopey little trinkets but the presentation seems to indicate that there will be more.
You are of course free to not find it trashy! I would miss this site in a way if it no longer existed but I am not strongly tied to it so I may have a more distant assessment of the lengths to which I am comfortable with its owners going to guilt users into sending them money than is normal.

I'm all for raising money from the users to support this site. We're all going to need to step up if we want to see this place prosper and improve moving forward.
That being said, this strikes me as pretty cheesy, and I wouldn't personally buy any of it. I think they could do better. If they make anything off of this that's great though.
If they could actually come up with something I like, I would consider it. My taste is pretty weird, though.
Perhaps other artists here could do their own art to benefit the site? What would you design for that?
I don't mind if they make merchandise with the dorky characters they already own, even if I happen to think it is ugly. Many people like to buy stuff that I think is ugly, often pushed to purchase by the very traits that make a sight ugly to me, so I would be best kept out of the process.
It due to both are obsessive of the status despite it should be moved on instead of obsessive.
Examples, both are obsessive of their unrealistic fantasy goal despite the physical reality world gives the cue says it best to move on than latch on it.

FA benefits from the free art I post on it that (presumably) attracts users and more artists. If anything, FA should pay ME. As it is, I'm okay with having a platform to display my works. But, considering this site also makes money from advertisers, don't expect me to pay for this "privilege."
Seems to me that everyone here should at least contribute something to that if they can.
