really Croc is back?

I read about that really long ago as it went quite silent around the project for a while, but just got to watch the trailer the other day. While I found "Croc" quite charming I feel like there are a lot of things it would have needed improvements in. The new trailer, I also admit, didn't really give me an impression of that they did all that much to polish up the old game which is honestly a bit of a shame. Might of course be that they simply didn't have as much funds available and couldn't do more yet. But I will be patient and see how things turn out as Croc is still a pretty adorable character, and it's definitely neat that people who didn't have a PS1 might be able to try the game out soon enough.

It was rather expected they didn't do too much with graphics. They basically just revamped the original textures. But that is fine. They likely will do the same if they make Croc 2. To keep the graphics as they originally were. But they are allowing to play with modernized controls, similar to the Tomb Raider Trilogy. They will also add what other remasters are doing is add galleries to view history of the game that was never seen.

If they make a Croc 3, then that's when Croc can really get a graphical change.

Ah, neat. Bonus stuff is generally appreciated. Will see how physics and controls might turn out later on. I only mildly remember how coherrent the whole gem searching part in the game was, though I don't expect any changes in that regard really.I guess the level design with the many smaller sections might be something people will find mildly annoying nowadays. Let's hope that new take isn't riddled with long loading times.

Very likely be fixed with loading to be sped up. Though I like the loading screen as Croc walking across the screen.

In terms of gem finding. You need to find all color gems to open the bonus area to get the last Gobbo. Otherwise you can beat the level without collecting all of them.

Been a while. Just might have remembered it falsely but I think obtaining a few of them was pretty obscure or something that didn't work too well. Will see though.
