Gumroad is blocked
Well, it's finally happened. I'm actually surprised it took them this long. As you can see my Gumroad page is blocked as well as many others before it for selling fetish content. That should remind us that I'm not selling pies here. This business is tough, I am on the very edge of legality, and at any moment I can get in serious trouble with the law because of this. You should realize that it's not the platforms that are to blame for this situation, it's the banks and payment systems that impose the restrictions, which is why I can't use platforms that use PayPal. It's getting harder and harder to keep this show going, so I'm hoping for your understanding. I will see what other platform I can use, but for now I only have SubscribeStar.

Maybe central banks were a horrible idea after all?
As for the 'war on drugs', that began all the way back in the 1930's under FDR. The UN fully joined the effort in 1961 with 'Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs'. Again, a GLOBALIST effort that the evangelists simply glommed onto after it had been in the works for decades.
Also, keep in mind that these credit card companies have no problem with the 'escort services', which EVERYONE knows what really goes on.
They also don't seem to have a problem with Onlyfans (which accepts pretty much all major credit cards), and a whole lot of other online smut involving ACTUAL LIVE PEOPLE. I've been digging around for some time, and find a lot of major inconsistencies in these policies. They're attacking adult artwork, while ignoring real-life stuff. I suspect it's nothing more than a smokescreen to give themselves a false halo while they still eagerly chase the BIG BUCKS... including those super-rich CEOs who spend $50k and upward on a SINGLE NIGHT with an 'escort'.
Companies don't want to pay staff to overlook issues, because that hurts the bottom line of needing to earn more and more money every year. That's why places like Twitter, TikTok, Steam, Kick, Epic Game Store etc. are such cesspools of awful content and sometimes downright illegal stuff.
Opening up to pornographic content would need moderation so its not used for illegal stuff like prostitution, CP or other illegal content and no one's willing to put down those resources to moderate and earn good on all that sweet NSFW mula.
I do think its inevitable that something that just says "Fuck it, everything goes" comes around in terms of a payment method but its going to be seedy and untrustworthy, kinda like Kick is today for streaming. Because they are not going to moderate it and likely be caught in many scandals.
But god knows when that time will come.
Because right now, since it has to be "secret" there's no way of knowing how large the transactions for NSFW content is. But if something focused souly on that content comes and goes "We made 10 billion in profit on the first year, this was only on NSFW related transactions" banks would start to get interested, and if that company is like a kick version of banking then they'd see themselves as having an advantage being pre-established and "trustworthy" as far as transaction related companies go.
So that newbie might have to walk for everyone else to run.
They have been tightening their grip of late and trying to push their twisted ideas of morality on others. The only alternative right now is crypto which is a minefield of scammers, grifters and unstable prices. Some people are turning to dodgy places like Boosty (mainly artists in Russia these days due to sanctions) or others as a result. Its a real mess...
Can hopefully say this much on your point though: It's so ironic that officially authoritarian nations like Russia have a higher chance of coming up with a payment system that might allow artists in the "free West" to create art and get donations for it again. To be clear I'm not supporting anyone in any other way, the wars happening right now are dark and bloody and sad and all. Just saying what a weird situation we find ourselves in: Western banks and payment systems were taken over by crazy cults from the previous century, while BRICS nations are discussing currency and payment systems that can be solid against sanctions... which sure they also desire to get away with with some bad stuff, but such a currency may be what saves artists in the West, because the people here that we foolishly trusted did what we only expected from those authoritarians. What a messed up timeline!
You'd think by now there'd be a specific branch of banking for adult content. Banks love money, it's so weird they don't love NSFW money.
Sucks to see another platform, well, deplatformed you for providing good content to paying customers. I hope you can still get by well enough and grow!
I had the opposite problem of someone below. My experience was that my bank blocked all the purchase attempts by default, so I had to call them and ask them to mark it as not suspicious, and haven't had any problems on my end after that.
This really is a shame about the Gumroad thing, but they have been cracking down on that a lot lately. Felt like a matter of time on this front.
Have you tried Ko-Fi? Its similar to Gumroad in a lot of ways, but as far as I can tell it still allows for NSFW uploads and purchases. I currently use it to give out my Gulp! Transition for Open Broadcast Software, and I have bought a LOT of NSFW VRChat models over there.
It might take some time to rebuild your portfolio, but it might be worth looking into. There's also an option for people to leave a tip, or "buy a coffee" as the site calls it.
If you're lazy though, I guess the only important quote is: "The NSFW tag does not provide an option for pornography or sexually explicit nudity", which is almost all NSFW furry content I know.
