I can't believe how transphobic insurance providers can fucking be.
I was charged about 100 bucks for a month of HRT so I called the insurance provider as a "what the fuck."
I was told that that's contributing to my deductible, and when I said my plan had a $0 deductible they pivoted and said it was an out of pocket expense.
I brought up that it says in my documents that the cost of a generic medication is supposed to be $10 and they insist it's an out of pocket expense and I'm actually getting a discount cuz the non "out of pocket" amount is actually 2 dollars.
And the best part? Despite me literally talking to them about trans medication and starting off with saying I was trans the person on the phone CONSTANTLY said "yes, sir" and "no sir" the entire fucking time.

Sorry you had to go through that Lonny. I've had lot of trans friends go through similar stuff. If you want to talk about it, I'm open.
American healthcare in general is extremely exploitative, and I'm sorry that you had to deal with that crap. Maybe we'll get some type of reform someday, but I'm not holding my breath.

We need to put stricter campaign finance and lobbying laws in place before we can even attempt to fix anything in this country. Our current system is basically Rent-A-Congressman for exploitative multi-billion-dollar industries.
