do you have a favorite aesthetic?
like i fucking love y2k futurism and frutiger aero~
sometimes it's just nostalgia that makes me think of it. but most of the time it's just how it all looks compared to stuff now and it makes me wonder and think. like, these two aesthetics make me feel comfortable, inspired, hopeful, creative. it makes me want to strive towards something better. i know it sounds weird but it's how i feel when it comes to this stuff.
i dunno.
now if you'll excuse me. i'm going to listen to some pendulum and go stare at old "leaked" console renders and shit XP

I also enjoy the occasional cel-shaded outlined look
What you want is Phantasy Star Online.
Ultimate is fun to me, even if it's grindy. At high level the game IS really meant to be played with other people. Having the solo easier modes future-proofs it and makes it always enjoyable alone, but when you want the ultimate 1/100,000 drop rate weapons and need multiple chars with multiple section IDs? Yeah forget playing Gamecube or Xbox.
I'd recommend Just playing Blue Burst on Ephi or something. Mostly vanilla experience, with some QoL stuff, some backported from PSO2, a few minor new items you can choose not to use, and XP boosts and drop rate boosts for events and things. The hard to find items you just trade up for and it's so much simpler and easy.
And I'm just blabbing I don't expect you to play it or anything.
I just think standing in the city environments, or the big spaceship setpieces is just incredible.
Like I could record some footage, put some originals from a friend over it, color-shift it, put it on Youtube, title it
"remember when the future was beautiful?- 90s/00s technopunk futurepunk aesthetic vaporwave mix"
get a billion views
I don't know if there's a name for my favorite aesthetic, but I love super colorful vibrant girly stuff that screams Gen 2 My Little Pony, I just like girly vibes in general
I wonder if Y2K futurism includes stuff like the silly anti piracy screens or whether that's more of a horror subgenre xD
also i think anti piracy screens would definitely fit more in the horror genre
