Question for L Roy and Belinda: what first drew you to each other?

L. Roy says: Well, I'd by lying if I told you it wasn't her gorgeous looks. The very first thing was her liver-and-tan pelt. I think most non-canines wouldn't notice, but it’s just unusual enough to draw attention. But she’s very funny too. She is great at quoting movie lines at exactly the right moment.

Belinda says: Roy is a deep thinker. He’s not quick-witted, but you can see the wheels turning when he’s got something on his mind. He’s always very polite and attentive. He doesn’t dominate our relationship like some males tend to do. He values my opinion, even if he doesn’t always agree.

I have a question for Michael, awaiting the day of his release. You've been through some rough times, but have put others through the same. Having discovered your spiritual seeking, have you come to a deeper understanding of yourself? What are your feelings toward the sort of people who once victimized you, and about the urge to pay that hurt back?

Michael says:
Yes, I absolutely have a deeper understanding of myself. But more importantly, I have a deeper understanding of my Maker and of the type of person He wants me to be. It is not my place to forgive those who bullied and victimized me. True forgiveness is something that only God can grant. I don’t have any desire to hurt them or others of their species. But scripture says that God helps those who help themselves. I believe it is not only my right, but my duty to defend myself against those who would abuse me for their own pleasure so that they will learn of God’s wrath. If it takes a broken nose or shredded ear to impart the Holy Word, then so be it.
