For the last two months I have been having this recurring tonsil infection, my right tonsil still very swollen, I have a streptococcus infection but it has been very persistent, I have a Con in October and I am afraid if this doesnβt get better I may cancel :(
I am considering removing my tonsils but I know they are the first line of defense against infections and since I have low defenses I feel it will be worst if I do it, any suggestions?

Certainly something you should discuss with your doctor, but just a few quick searches lean towards agreement that tonsillectomy reducing immune response is typically only a concern with young children. Additionally, if you're having recurring tonsillitis, having a tonsillectomy will improve your immune response because your body won't be constantly fighting the infection causing the tonsillitis.
