honestly people who make refrences like that is just childish given how different os a scenario of that day and a wery big cat lady breaking a sky scraper. i say you should just draw what you want and if people make comments like that just ignore them.

I did feel a bit iffy with some of those drawings. But I chose not too say anything because I had faith you had taken that into account. As someone born a year after 911 and in Australia. It feels very awkward trying to connect to people who had experienced that tragedy.

In my opinion, you did nothing wrong. And your recent art with Daryl, did not provoke the idea of 911 beyond an intrusive thought.

I mean, if just any random skyscraper is going to cause a problem, that's definitely a them issue. Do they have this issue with Godzilla films? I lived through 9/11 and I don't see anything wrong with macros breaking tall buildings. Unless you're specifically using the Twin Towers, I don't even see how it ought to come up!

I grew up in NY and was there the day that happened. Don't ever feel bad or wrong about putting buildings in pictures or towers or city situations for a fun macro situation. I remember that day and honor that day always and never forgot. But I'm also into macro and know fantasy and fun is just that. If people take things too seriously then they have to look at themselves and wonder why they are thinking the worst of something that isn't meant to be that way.

There is no giantess cat walking about stomping through the city (as much as we wish she was) in RL. If we have to tell people this is all for fun and fantasy and enjoyment, then maybe they have to look at themselves and wonder why that's where their thoughts went to with such great artworks for macros and fans of this to enjoy. Just my feeling on it. Never doubt or feel bad about presenting your great artworks and characters having fun and bringing enjoyment to all of us. Keep it up. WAY UP!

Yes never forget that day but never stop having fun and doing what you do. You make so many happy and your characters are just great. They should be allowed to do what they will do not worrying that one or two people may think you are doing is not respecting something. Nonsense. Hundreds if not thousands think you are great at what you do. Daryl rules and so does your artwork and situations.

Every Godzilla movie has him or Kong destroying whole cities worth of buildings and that's what monsters do. Daryl is just as worthy as they are to have fun in her city. And she shall as none of us can stop her from having fun as she wants and bringing smiles to all of us as she does so.

Unfortunately, people are just going to make shitty jokes and comments anyway. I'd recommend just hiding them.

Though, if you want to reduce the chances of people making those jokes in the first place, maybe vary up your skyscraper designs a bit? You do tend to draw a lot of "big square glass-and-steel pillar" type skyscrapers in your macro art.

I don't think anyone would complain if you drew macro Daryl demolishing a skyscraper that resembles a certain luxury hotel and condo building on North Wabash Avenue in Chicago.

This is the Internet, man. Being offended is a competitive sport. So I say fuck it, draw what you want. So what if you hurt the fragile fee-fees of some random line of text on the Internet? You don't know them, you'll likely never meet them, and the only power they have over you is what you give them. Art, even fetish art, is about expression. The moment you change what you draw to appeal to someone else is the moment it stops being art.

Honestly if some is bringing up that day in a macro pic, they are most likely a troll. Best thing for it is to ignore them or have their comment, probably both. It may get tiring having to do it. But if it’s the same person over and over again, maybe consider reporting them for harassment. Cause just because you draw a skyscraper doesn’t mean you are making a reference to that day.

As long as the pic doesn’t look exactly like the twin towers and evoke 9/11 imagery I don’t see the issue. I’ve had a few macro ideas like a macro gal accidentally hip checking a tower and causing a domino effect that knocks over others or I’ve thought about Mass Wolf crushing a villains tower by falling on it with her big butt and crushing it like it was a soda can.

Honestly? At this point, it's been 23 years. Comedy = tragedy + time. It's been long enough. If you did Daryl hip-checking the Twin Towers it'd be funny.

You are not stepping on people's toes. They are shoving their foot under yours so they can complain about you stepping on their toes.

I think the absence of, you know, people in the building is the main difference in this situation. The only times I've ever seen you make it a point to emphasize that these buildings are populated are for scenarios that are ultimately comedic and/or wholesome, your characters saying hello to someone inside etc. Whenever they're on a destructive romp, however, I just assume these buildings have been evacuated, given the general tone of your work.

Granted, that's me, and it's what I generally default to. Unless the artist makes it an actual point to show that there are indeed people in these buildings, they're empty and the only damage being done is purely economical. The artists who do populate them, I don't follow in the first place. Death is the real differentiator, and there was a lot of death that day. It also tends to be a contentious issue regarding macro in general, I know I don't find people dying to be very titillating, giants or no. I suppose you could make this distinction less ambiguous if you're really worried? Your work does have a very light-hearted tone to it to begin with, but clarity might help? I dunno!

My best suggestion would be to save the pics featuring skyscrapers for after September, and any macro images might be best with differently-shaped buildings (wider ones that look more like a cereal box than a square post, for example). And considering how you have the common sense to not draw any destruction around that specific day, I think you should be clear from most criticism. Any that still do are probably the people who will always complain no matter what, and I don't think their concern is warranted.

Everyone is offended by even the slightest thing in this day and age. So draw it for your own satisfaction instead of trying to make snowflakes feel non-offended.

My only thought at the moment is I'm glad they hunted down bin Laden and shot him in the face.
