Another Lengthy Update and Self-Evaluation (26/09/24)

💧 Stay hydrated 💧
Felt like it was time to write another journal entry to overall talk about my experience of posting art online, as well as other things that I feel like talking about.
(WARNING: I have a lot to yap about)
[Social Media 📱]
Recently, I have made and started posting on Pixiv and Kofi for different reasons, and I also want to state the differing uses of my other existing social media.
Pixiv:
- Basically will act as my portfolio (and eventually main portfolio) where I post only my completed artworks that I am satisfied with.
- I like the interface and performance a lot more than the one I experienced with Instagram and Facebook (though I need to get used to providing tags in Japanese).
Kofi:
- Posting extra art stuff that I didn’t feel like posting for a variety of reasons in exchange for a bit of money ~ However, I am figuring out what to add more on my Kofi to make the money spent worth it for my potential payees.
- It is also a way for people generous enough to donate or tip money to support my art.
Twitter (X):
- I post anything here, and is my main way of communicating with my followers (and non-followers).
- I sometimes post quick one-off doodles that usually don’t appear anywhere else.
FurAffinity:
- Similar to how I use it for Twitter (X), except I often provide more personalized and detailed descriptions for my posts.
- I also occasionally do these journal entries talking about my art experience online and/or giving updates on my situation.
Caard (My Website):
- My commission details, and slight portfolio.
- I need to replace some of the art on there, but there isn’t any rush to do it really.
[Personal Art Experience Online 🎨]
Despite what I have heard about Twitter (X) (and other social media), it has been an overall pleasant experience. Specifically;
- All of my commissions with many different people have been pleasantly cooperative.
- The comments towards my artworks have all been nice to read.
- People have been respectful towards my decisions despite I initially saying I would draw something for them.
- There have been some odd messages here and there, but even they ended pleasantly.
[Plans 📝]
I’ve already said some of my plans in the previous sections, but in short, I am posting stuff on Pixiv and Kofi now.
As for the other plans, it is the following;
- I am continuing with my usual stuff of drawing digital and traditional art of whatever I want to draw (although, it is usually Monster Hunter).
- However, there is less traditional art due to me using it for a specific kind of practice. Specifically, replicating other artist’s artworks to learn from it, which I do not want to post out of respect.
- I also have been doodling a lot more digitally, which further reduced my traditional art posts.
- I want to do more animations, but I keep getting distracted with other things.
[Miscellaneous ⚙️]
It is very interesting to see what performs well and not between different social media platforms. The following are my observations;
- People generally prefer my Monster Hunter art, which I am glad since I also prefer drawing the monsters from Monster Hunter.
- People seem to specifically like my cute and timid Mizutsune boy, Yin, where he is involved in breaking multiple personal best performing artworks (which I get).
- Although, Dragon Priestess, Florissax, is my current best performing artwork on FurAffinity (which I also get).
[Final Thoughts 🚧]
There may be some things I forgot to include into this entry, but these are the bulk of the things I wanted to write about in this journal entry.
I mainly write these for myself, but if you are still reading this (or have scrolled all the way down here), feel free to ask any questions about this journal or my stuff in general.
