Hello all...
Just got back from the movies where I enjoyed (immensely) and a showing of 'The Wild Robot'. I found this to be an awesome movie. Simply put, I found none of the negatives that have been showing up in movies lately. There was no bad language, there was a solid plot, AND THERE WAS A FOX!!!!!
Seriously, if you are looking for a movie to watch, I would highly suggest this one.

The story would have still worked nicely without him, but a fox voiced by Pedro Pascal does tend to make things that much better, doesn't it?

I've been so thoroughly disgusted with 'Hollywood' over the past many years, it's good to know good/great movies are still possible!

Everything points to a great movie!

Apparently it was based on a children boom of the same name
I think the Wild Robot was proof that even a simple idea could be turned into great story when it was executed properly by people who actually care about the story instead of pandering to their executives. I still thinks that there's a little bit to much going on the second half but the writers are doing commendable job at wrapping them up in a timely manner.
Plus, i love how, aesthetically, Dreamworks has been going with hand painted style for their several past movies (Bad guys came to mind), even after perfecting the art (and science) of realistically rendering furs. I think it goes well with the children book origin of the story.
And speaking of rendering, Dreamworks' render engine, Moonray, is actually open source and could be freely downloaded and compiled. I came across this fun fact while looking for alternatives to Keyshot which i regularly used to render my 3D designs. The only downside is one have to compile the software by themselves, which require some computer know-how (which i'm currently learning).
and now that you mention it, yes, most of the movies I've liked were more old style...
*hugs...

I just watched "Rabbit School: Guardians of the Golden Egg." There were foxes in that as well, as you could imagine. :smiles
