Hello!
So, I haven't uploaded on here in hoooot minute. I've always struggled with uploading on social media for a variety of reasons, but mainly gallery sites are a lot of work to catch up when you have years worth of pieces (especially when you have to decide on some of them if you even want to upload them...) and I got tired of slowly working through it while also occasionally getting glitches/errors that would throw my progress out and I'd have to rewrite and retag something (and not really know what to tag?) that I put it back on the backburner and didn't pick it back up.
In the meantime, I got very into cohost. And I loved the site. Loooved the site. So easy to post, great culture, no pressure on metrics, good privacy, plenty of media options.
And, as you may know, cohost is currently read only and will be going offline at the end of the year.
I've been pretty distraught honestly. It quickly felt like home and now I'm back wandering. I considered just locking down everything and lurking only, but, I do want to share my art. I know only like ten people see it but I like having something to show I am here and I am alive, in a way.
All this to say that yes, I am back, and I will be uploading a lot of newer and frankly much better art. Currently I'm waiting on having a mouse since mine died a couple days ago and while I could do it with a touchscreen, I don't... want to.
Cohost showed me what I wanted in a social media experience/online presentation so I am revamping and catching up a lot of different profiles right now. I plan on catching up here, uploading on Inkblot, Sheezyart, Pillowfort, Pixiv, and Tumblr, and have a Dreamwidth and Itchio just for if I feel like writing (beyond a journal here, I suppose? I tend to forget about this feature.) or uploading collections of my art/comics in the future. I also made a Bluesky despite my major issues with the site to follow people I follow on twitter and trim down the amount of people I follow there to limit time off the site. My Bluesky is just going to be where I can reply to people if i want and maybe post previews of art in the future, maybe. But moving a lot of stuff away from twitter has already helped my mental health a good bit. I recommend the same to anyone who's felt worn down by it, especially lately. The internets in an odd nebulous state right now but we do have options, you know?
See you all soon🧡
