End of a chapter, start of another
Well, today was the first day of my last week at the job I've had for five years now. Been working as a carpenter/general handyman for a construction and property management company and, honestly, I've really enjoyed the majority of what I've been doing for this time and I've picked up some great skills, worked with some great people, and have been treated pretty well, all things considered. But, as all things must, that's coming to an end.
I finally landed an electrical apprenticeship and with that the chance to take my career further and make more money and learn new skills and, hopefully, eventually start my own business and be my own boss. Downside: I've gotta go back to school! D: That said, I've already got a degree, I'm debt free, and financially stable (if behind where I wanna be) so I should be able to do that fairly easily and not have to do a bunch of gen-ed classes. Plus, once I start getting raises, should be able to pay for it pretty easily. However, I may open writing commissions again this holiday season/new year to put a bit of money away to take a bit of the sting out of the school bills, but we'll see. No promises and and get yourselves TOO excited! You know how slow I work XD
So, hopefully, this will be a smooth transition and a great first step toward greater things! Wish me luck! ^.=.^
(I'll try not to zap myself TOO much....)
