I think everyone is moving to twitter or bluesky for some reason. I feel like it's the worst platform for hosting an art gallery, but I still see so many people moving there.
As mentioned above, it seems like more people are moving to social media than anything. Twitter, Bluesky, the Fediverse, and Itaku are the big ones from the people I follow. Sadly, I can't really go to any of those places. I've had enough trauma from social media for my tastes.
Agreed. I also like the other gallery sites (InkBunny, Weasyl, and SoFurry), especially for the tag filtering feature each one has. Social media is absolutely broken for showing art, and almost completely useless for writers like me.
I haven't seen any dip in activity, if anything I've seen more artists moving to here from Twitter. Other than Bluesky (which I'm not on), there's nowhere else I see furries congregating for art.
You might be seeing a dip in commissions for that opposite reason than you think, more artists to choose from these days. But I think the biggest factor is times are tough. Globally wealth gaps continue to keep increasing, inflation keeps happening, etc. I know for myself I'm taking a long break from commissions because I just can't afford them like I used to.
I haven't heard of any new website. I know some are making their own telegram/discord servers or making a horrible mistake and setting up shop on the dumpster fire Twitter.
I wonder if everyone else is like me and struggling to find time to relax and browse FA. It feels like it takes me a week or two to properly check through my submissions list, which makes me quite sad.
I think people are still slowly coming back after the whole hacker mishap that happened and people that were effected by the hack trying to get their things back together
Probably people diversifying after the recent ban scares on DA and FA. And maybe finding different audiences in those other places that they like interacting with better (for now).
Maybe im just weird
